South Fork Conservancy

South Fork Conservancy South Fork Conservancy builds collective action to protect the South Fork of Peachtree Creek watershed.

South Fork Conservancy is actively developing walking trails along Atlanta’s Peachtree Creek. Its goal is to conserve the urban waterway, connect existing and future trails, and restore the area’s natural beauty. The group’s goal is to create a trail system that will eventually connect Buckhead, Atlanta’s upscale business and residential center, with the Emory University campus and beyond. Active

trails include The Confluence, Cheshire Farm and Meadow Loop trails in Buckhead, and Zonolite Park in DeKalb County.

Calling all watershed stewards!!💙 South Fork Conservancy is compiling a State of the Watershed Report to discuss current and historical sources of pollution in our waterways that impact water quality, human health, and our natural environment. If you have any information on water quality in our watershed, we would love to hear from you! Especially if it includes any of the following:
💧locations of previous/current stream monitoring
💧stream monitoring data
💧locations of pollution, spills, discharges, etc.
💧photos that reflect water quality
💧graphs or maps that reflect water quality
💧any other type of info you may have!!
No amount of information is too small! If you would like to share your information with us, please fill out this form:

Come along on our walk in Montreal Park with and !! We learned all about this beloved forest and the many plants that call it home💚

Did you know mushrooms are the glue that hold forests together?🍄 They make a huge communication network with trees and other plants right within the forest floor! Kinda like a giant group chat📳 Must be hard being so popular when you’re such a fungi (I’ll see myself out)

Make sure to upload your pictures for the City Nature Challenge (hosted locally by ) on iNaturalist through April 27th! What a fine looking group of scientists you are👩‍🔬👨‍🔬🍀🌱🌼

Native plants are the only plants we need!!
🌱🌸💐🌳🌼🪻🍀🌻🌷🌲
We had so much fun with on our spring walk!! We learned all about native plants, how to spot invasives (and how to get rid of them!!❌), the many, MANY‼️ animals that rely on native plants to survive, and how easy it is to plant more native plants in our backyards!!🌱 It was also amazing to walk and talk with some incredible community members!!🥰

Special thank you to Jeremiah Wood for being a great leader and teacher!!🤝

If you missed this walk, don’t worry! We have a forest floor walk coming up on April 26th from 3-4:30pm at Montreal Park in Tucker, GA!! Register now on our website or at the link in our bio. Stay tuned for more info!😉🩵
