Xena needed an emergency spay after developing pyometra, a serious and potentially life-threatening infection of the uterus. Thankfully, our good friends at Planned PEThood of GA were able to get her the lifesaving surgery and treatment she needed Monday morning.

We are incredibly grateful to Planned Pet Hood for helping Xena when she needed it most, and to all of our amazing donors whose generous monetary donations help make critical medical care like this possible.

We have included a note from their family: Thank you so much again. We just picked her up and are bringing her home crying full tears of joy. Your help in this process was such a blessing.

Back in July, one of our volunteers was out feeding our resident tire shop cat when she spotted an unfamiliar, surprisingly friendly face wandering nearby. The backstory was heartbreaking: two cats had allegedly been left in a cage and then released into an unfamiliar area—a situation both terrifying for the animals and incredibly dangerous.
​Fortunately, our volunteer was able to scoop up the newcomer and bring her straight to safety. Since she didn't have a microchip, we registered her with the local shelter to ensure we covered every base in case a searching owner was looking for a stolen pet. When no one came forward, she officially became Simone! Simone got spayed, vaccinated, and placed with a wonderful family!

​But the mission wasn't over. For seven long weeks, our dedicated volunteers kept a vigilant watch on the area, holding out hope for Simone's missing sibling. Finally, another volunteer team spotted and safely rescued her!
​Thanks to the relentless effort of everyone involved, both sisters were safe and fully vetted.

Best of all? They were reunited. They are beginning their next chapter together, having been adopted into the exact same forever home. We are so grateful to their adopters!

​In a world that can often feel unpredictable, the compassion of everyday volunteers, and adopters is a powerful reminder of how much good still exists. ❤️

We haven’t slowed down this summer at Pet Buddies Atlanta, and we can't wait to share some great updates with you soon! But today, we are reaching out because we urgently need your help to cover a $588 medical bill.

While our volunteers were out, they found Moe hanging around a truck yard. She was incredibly sick and needed immediate intervention.

Thanks to our amazing friends at Dearborn Animal Hospital, she was admitted right away and hospitalized for two days. It was touch-and-go for a while, but Moe rallied like a champ and was finally able to go to her foster home today! ❤️

Because our medical funds were completely maxed out a few months ago, this unexpected emergency has put a heavy strain on our resources.

Can you help us get back on track so we can keep saying "yes" to pets in need?

Today is our pet food donation day. We have scheduled pick ups all day long. We are so grateful to our donors as all our cat food, pet supplies, and dog treats we had to purchase. We are grateful to Park Pet Supply for all the dog food going out today!

Baby Stevie is looking for a home!

He was found as a tiny stray in Atlanta and is being fostered with other kittens from Fulton Co.

Stevie is curious, playful, athletic, food motivated, and growing confident in foster care.

Stevie is a male and completely vetted/neutered. He will need to be adopted into a home with a current cat or adopted with one of his kitten friends.

Our spay and neuter program is off to a strong start in July. Buddy, who was rescued after his mother was fatally injured on the streets, was neutered and vaccinated on Friday. His owner, who bottle-fed him, has benefited greatly from their bond, as Buddy's companionship has helped alleviate her depression caused by having an autoimmune disorder.

Tomorrow is our pet food donation day, and we’re excited to share that our Pick-and-Choose donation box—a community favorite—is being filled as we speak.

This special box is filled with donations that YOU generously sent via Chewy, Amazon, or dropped into our bins. When families come to pick up pet food, they also get to choose the items that will help their pets thrive at home. This simple act brings so much joy to everyone involved!

No one should have to choose between feeding themselves or their beloved pets. Our pet food donation day changes that. We are incredibly grateful to our donors for the love and financial support you give to our small organization—and the families we serve together. 🫶

Boxcar belongs to one of our senior families. Boxcar needed to have urgent surgery a few weeks ago and has now recovered and is doing well. Thank you to our donors, whose generous monetary contributions directly funded Boxcar’s surgery and the care required for his recovery! Thank you to Dearborn Animal Hospital for getting Boxcar in for surgery the same day he came in.
