An inspiring experience now has a name to match – applications are now open for the Janine Lee Learning & Leadership Collaborative!

Formerly the Accelerating Equity Learning Collaborative, this year-long journey inspires and equips leaders to be social change agents who engage with the structural, relational, and transformational conditions of systems change to advance equity and justice within their organizations and communities.

Applications are being accepted now through December 5. You can also learn more by signing up for our informational webinar on November 20.

We've continued to update our list of ways you can support relief and recovery from Hurricane Helene, including recovery funds from the Community Foundation of Central Georgia, the North Carolina Community Foundation, and the Greenwood County Community Foundation. If you know of other opportunities not listed, please let us know.

Hurricane Helene has caused dozens of deaths and has left communities throughout the region facing months of rebuilding and recovery.

You can help support these communities by donating to relief organizations on the ground now as well as by supporting community foundation recovery funds that will provide support in the weeks and months ahead.

This week’s shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, has left us shocked and devastated. Our hearts are with the community in the wake of this tragedy.

One of our members, the Barrow Community Foundation, has activated a crisis fund dedicated to providing immediate support to organizations that support the people of Barrow County during times of crisis. Contributions to the fund will be dedicated to the recovery of the families, students, and staff affected by this heartbreaking event.

In the days since Janine passed, our team has been deeply moved by the words of sympathy, kindness and encouragement we've received from so many of you. We cannot thank you enough for your support during this very difficult time.

We have sad news to share: Janine Lee, Philanthropy Southeast’s president and CEO since 2011, passed away Wednesday evening following a brief illness.

We are extending our deepest sympathies and condolences to Janine’s family. We are doing all we can to support them during this time of great loss.

The warmth of Janine's personality, combined with an unwavering commitment to the Southeast and a steadfast belief in the power of philanthropy, made her one of our field’s most impressive and inspiring leaders. Words cannot convey how much we will miss her.
