Thank you to everyone who made it to this month's AGS meeting either in person or online. And thank you to Drew Hooper (and his GSU colleagues) for joining us to provide valuable insights into the critical first steps in investigating a potential brand new economy for Georgia's historically vital kaolin industry-- all puns likely intended.
For our next meeting on Tuesday, May 26, I am exercising my executive privilege to invite myself to be the speaker. That way we I don't have to impose on anyone the week of Memorial Day.
But I hope that despite many people traveling that we can still have a strong in person audience for: "Catastrophism in the
Geologic History of Georgia."
I won't just talk about hypervelocity impacts! We'll explore the cataclysmic effects of volcanism, landslides, storms, and earthquakes, in addition to those pesky asteroids. I hope that you'll be able to join us. As always, anyone is welcome to attend, but online access to the Zoom broadcast is for AGS members only.
Thank you,
Scott
