COMMUNITY OPPORTUNITY GUIDELINES
THE BASICS- (effective February 1, 2015/Updated 2/2021)
Fresh Fruits & Vegies Saturday Co-Op
• *$25.00 per box (includes food, breakdown distribution bags and shoppers gas)
• 2 shopper/sorters - availability from 6:30am – 10:30am
• 2 designated sor
ters – availability from 9:00am – 10:30am
• Pick up promptly by 10:30am in South West Atlanta @ 2220 Campbellton Rd, Atlanta, GA 30311, The Walter & Andrew Young YMCA pavilion. (Since Update- See Regular Posts)
• Payment can be made via PayPal at [email protected] or in cash. THE POLICIES-
• COMMUNICATION: Each “Co-opist” agrees to provide active email addresses and phone numbers to create an effective” tree” of communication.
• PAYMENT: “Co-opists” will submit dues Thursday prior to Saturday of Co-Op, made payable via Co-Op account (http://paypal.me/thecoopatl) or cash. *Co-op price subject to increase with notice.
• VOLUNTEERS PROCESS/DUTIES:
1. Shoppers and Sorters are committed to being on time.
2. All Shoppers and Sorters will receive Orientation document explaining sorting system, do’s and don’ts.
3. Shoppers and/or Sorters will sign up and be confirmed, by Saturday the week before co-op and contact info for each Shopper and Sorter will be provided to “Co-opists”.
4. First time Shopper must shop with experienced Shopper.
5. Shoppers and Sorters are committed to being conscientious when distributing and packing goods to avoid, where possible, bruising and breaking.
• PICK-UP PROCESS:
1. To ensure equal distribution of goods, there will be no “early” pick-ups. Pick-ups will be permitted at time windows stated under the “Basics”.
2. Boxes not picked up or verbally arranged for, will be left under tables unattended past pick up time windows. THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS REGARDING THE DISPOSITION OF THESE BOXES AND ALL “CO-OPITSTS” BY VIRTUE OF INVOLVEMENT, ARE IN AGREEMENT WITH THIS AS A MEASURE OF RESPECT FOR EACH OTHER’S TIME AND ENERGY.
• DELIVERY/TAKE AWAY: There will be a $5.00 fee within 5 miles for those participants requesting delivery and/or take away services. Arrangements for this service will need to be made and paid for prior to pick-up day.
• EXTRAS: Extras will be distributed amongst shoppers and sorters when available. Unwanted items can be left on the extras table or shared at Co-opists’ discretion and no substitutions will be made. “Co-opists” are encouraged to swap/substitute with each other AFTER pick-up.
• QUICKSALE ITEMS: Quick sale items are purchased at a discount due to degree of freshness and/or stock excess.
