Front double biceps is one of the mandatory poses required for anyone competing in bodybuilding, regardless of division.

In order to perform the side chest, the contestant should stand on two feet and have upper arms out to the sides parallel to the floor, with elbows bent at approximately 90-degrees with forearms parallel to torso. Legs, lats, chest, abdominals, and arms should be flexed.

First EVER IATBP Regional Powerlifting Meet - in the books ✅

This is a long-time dream of ours. The IATBP was created about 13 years ago with the intention of being a federation by and for trans lifters, with sanctioned competitions around the world that honors the needs of trans athletes, highlights their achievements, and allows them to build community. This weekend, Max Homstad (https://www.instagram.com/maximiliandaisy/) pulled off the first EVER regional-level sanctioned meet in Minneapolis, Minnesota at Solcana Fitness (https://www.instagram.com/solcanafitness/) - and he fu***ng KILLED IT 🤟💪

I went up there to watch and support everything and was completely in awe of Max, the lifters, and the AMAZING community at Solcana, that is so inclusive and supportive of trans lifters. The audience was completely packed and never quiet or dull - y'all cheered on the athletes with your full chest from the first squat to the last deadlift, and it was an incredible atmosphere to be a part of.

We hope to see ALL of these athletes down in Atlanta for the (inter)national powerlifting meet! Come beat your numbers, and compete against/build community with other trans lifters across the country!! If you competed at this meet, then you're already a member and can sign up for any other events until your 12-month membership expires or renews. Atlanta info can be found here: https://iatbp.org/atlanta-2026/

If you attended the meet as an athlete, volunteer, or audience member: PLEASE take a few minutes to fill out our survey! This helps give us feedback on what went well and what we can do better; guide our direction as an organization; and helps us when applying for funding in the future: https://forms.gle/64UGbCToia269dix6

If you couldn't make it, the livestream recording is up on our YouTube channel as well: https://youtube.com/live/5u8nSZy7Efk?feature=share

We're also still raising money for our big competitions in November! Thanks to the generosity of the folks at the Minnesota meet this weekend, we're at 55% of our goal. Help us get a little closer and save our competitions by donating today: give.gofundme.com/iatbp2026

GRATEFUL

Thank you to everyone who has already stepped in to help our organization survive this year. Whether you shared, donated, or both - we are eternally grateful for your support!

We applied to several grants this year and as we've mentioned before, have been turned down for all but one of them. Funding for LGBTQ+ organizations by trusts, foundations, and other grantors has been limited in this political climate.

We were holding out hope on one last grant we applied for earlier this year, and just received word on the status of our application - the IATBP was generously granted funding by the Trans Justice Funding Project!

We are grateful as always to the Trans Justice Funding Project. They see the work we are doing for our community and have funded our work several years in a row. They do not have any strings attached to their funding - they simply want us to have a positive impact on the trans community we serve, and trust us to do the work to make it happen. Check out their work here: https://www.transjusticefundingproject.org/

This is a HUGE win for us towards our annual goal! However, it does NOT fully get us there. We're now 40% there - and we need your help to get us the rest of the way! You can donate here (or share the link to help us spread the word): give.gofundme.com/iatbp2026

We'll also continue to keep y'all updated as the needle moves forward and the events get closer!

Thank you once again - to the TJFP and to our entire IATBP community 🩷🤍🩵

DONATE HERE: https://giving.gofundme.com/campaign/807569/donate

We're the only powerlifting & bodybuilding 🏋️ federation serving trans, non-binary, and gender non-conforming athletes - but our competitions are AT RISK because of a loss in grant funding in this current political climate.

If you're able to share or donate (or both!!), we greatly appreciate any and all support 🩷🤍🩵 Every dollar helps us get closer to making these events happen for our athletes!

What was your relationship between sports/lifting and your transition/self-discovery as a trans person?

This is a question we ask all of our guests, including former all-time world record-holder in powerlifting - and current meet director and head judge of our annual competitions in Atlanta - Janae (https://www.instagram.com/janaemariekroc/) on one of our Fireside Chats.

We're currently doing our first ever fundraiser to try and SAVE this year's competitions in November! Head to our GoFundMe to donate: https://giving.gofundme.com/campaign/807569/donate

You likely saw in one of our previous posts, but the IATBP currently doesn't have the funding it needs to put on our biggest events in November and finish out the rest of this year. Grant funding has not come through the way it normally does for us, and we need your help to save the competitions.

These events have a massive impact on the athletes who compete - from building community, to inspiring some of them to continue competing or even launching careers in the fitness community.

Help us empower our athletes and save the competitions by sharing and/or donating!

Donate directly to our fundraiser here: https://giving.gofundme.com/campaign/807569/donate

You can also help by sharing this video about our fundraiser and event 🩷🤍🩵

We're an official 501(c)(3) so your donation is also tax-deductible, so you get the benefit of supporting our athletes while also getting a tax benefit for yourself!

Who's more exhausted at the end of meet day – the lifters or the spotters/loaders? (There is a correct answer lol)

Shoutout to everyone who makes this day happen every year. We are eternally grateful for each and every one of you.

This is both an exciting and tough year for us. We have some incredible news to announce next week for y'all. And, we also currently do not have enough money to put on this year's events.

At this point we are planning on them happening, but they cost us quite a bit. We rent both venues, all of the equipment, pay all of our judges, referees, spotters/loaders. We do not receive much in sponsorship/tabling money, and a very small portion of our annual budget is funded by memberships, athlete registrations, and audience tickets, all of which we try to keep very inexpensive and accessible to folks.

We rely primarily on grant money to put on both competitions, and unfortunately all LGBTQ+ organizations are struggling for the limited funding in our current political climate. We will continue to apply for grants, but we are several thousand dollars short of putting on this year's event and are hoping for our community's support.

If you're able to donate, $2-$3 is enough to help us get towards this year's goal. You can donate through our website: https://iatbp.org/product/donate/

Moreover, if you or someone you know is a business owner who wants to sponsor us and advertise at both competitions as well as on our site, socials, etc., please reach out! Email [email protected] to get the ball rolling.

Thank you to our community for all you do. We literally couldn't exist without y'all!
