Losing $100 million could break most people.

David turned it into a rebuild — of his values, his purpose, and his daily discipline.

That’s what it means to be part of this community. We don’t just celebrate the wins. We show up for each other in the setbacks, because that’s where the real growth happens.

At a recent EO Atlanta gathering, David shared the five daily practices that carried him through:

→ Know your what — get clear on what actually matters → Know your who — surround yourself with the right people → Know your how — understand how you create value → Know your now — focus on what needs to happen today and next → Then connect it all to your why

He also left us with a leadership lesson worth sitting with: build champions, not just championships. Outcomes matter — but when you invest in developing people, the results tend to take care of themselves.

And maybe the simplest truth of the night: consistency creates momentum. Sleep. Health. Family. Learning. Business. It’s not the occasional burst of effort that moves the needle — it’s what you give your attention to, day after day.

This is why we gather. Not just for the access or the insight — but for the honesty. The kind that only happens among entrepreneurs who’ve been in the arena themselves.

Setbacks aren’t the end of the story. They’re where the next chapter starts.

It’s hard to believe that for many Atlantan’s the school year starts next week and even though we aren’t going back to the classroom in the same way we did in as kids, we are still seeking learning opportunities.

So, when we had a chance to bring Rafi Kohan back to the chapter we jumped at the chance. Sure, some of us had heard him speak previously, but many of us had not and what we discovered – is that we could ALL walk away new skills and new perspectives.

Through his session, Rafi invited us to use “trash talk” to raise our own game. He talked about the importance of understanding our individual zones of optimal functioning (i.e. where we do our best work), and how we could harness those zones to better interpret stress and control the controllables in our own situation. He also reminded us that failure is survivable, it’s proof of our own ability to grow and that when we build habits of resilience, we can become the best versions of ourselves.

All-in-all, it was a masterclass in mental toughness, one where everyone was given the tools to succeed on their own terms, in their own way.

Here in Atlanta, we had the opportunity to experience the World Cup first-hand. From suites to stadium seats, our EO community saw the glory of victory and the pain of defeat. Together, we watched leadership unfold on the field and off. With each intentional kick and every strategic play, we understood how deeply intertwined the athlete’s mindset is to the entrepreneurial spirit. The beautiful game may be over for now, but, the camaraderie gained, the lessons learned and the passion shared will be carried with us for years to come.

It’s time to talk about leading under pressure. As business owners, there’s always something to stress about - even when things are going well. So how can we combat our own mental monsters? With smart tactics that get us functioning at elite levels. Just because we’re not World Cup players, doesn’t mean we can’t learn how to compete better on our own fields. So register today for a once-in-a-lifetime learning opportunity.

From slaying dragons to scorching courts, this past year has been nothing short of epic. So last night when we raised one last glass to our fearless president, Delano Massey we did so with fire in our bellies and love in our hearts.

But it wasn’t all about goodbyes, we got to say hello to Shawn Brown, our unstoppable leader for the year ahead. And unstoppable it will be! With a learning calendar that starts off with s**t talking and leans into legacy planning, there’s plenty of opportunities to learn, grow, and build together.

Wow, wow WOW, what a day!

The Dragon Coin Games delivered exactly what we hoped; great competition, great people, and a few moments that will be talked about for a while. A huge thank you to everyone who showed up, suited up, and brought the energy that made this event so special.

A massive congratulations to Jeremy Le of LFG Forum for claiming the darts title, and to the ultimate Grand Dragon Slayers - Delano, Shawn Brown, and Jon Roman of the “Board” team - who dominated co****le and then held their nerve in the Trembling Tower to claim the title, exceptional work!
