A couple of months ago, Dark Matter was the topic of one of our meetings. The Vera Rubin Observatory was one of the exciting programs mentioned as the “next big thing” for the study of Dark Matter in the Universe.
Expect a LOT of new discoveries soon.

The Vera C. Rubin Observatory has released its first-ever full-sky images — and they’re absolutely jaw-dropping. For the first time, we’re seeing millions of galaxies that were hidden from view, scattered across the vast darkness of space.
This incredible telescope, powered by an 8.4-meter mirror and a record-breaking 3.2-gigapixel camera, will scan the entire southern sky again and again for the next decade — capturing cosmic events in real time. From tracking asteroids and exploding stars to exploring the mysterious pull of dark matter, the Rubin Observatory is about to transform how we see the universe.
These first images are just the beginning — a glimpse into a future where the hidden beauty and structure of the cosmos come sharply into focus.
