Carla "Annie" Moore Is Fighting for More Than a Park — She’s Fighting for Environmental Justice

As a Development Watch leader and long-time Vine City resident, Carla Moore is working to ensure that Lindsey Street Park truly lives up to its purpose: protecting the community from flooding, creating green space, and restoring resilience.

Originally built with stormwater gardens and native landscaping, the park has faced new challenges, including lead remediation and runoff issues that are worsening flooding for nearby homes.

Carla’s leadership reminds us: green infrastructure must be more than symbolic. It must be maintained, monitored, and rooted in community power to serve the people it was built for.

Integrity CDC held its first live and in person orientation session in three years at our Lindsay Street office. Due to the pandemic, we shifted to doing most of our intake work virtually and through our mobile units. It’s great to be getting back to some semblance of normalcy.
