The Thunderbay Quilt Guild held their monthly business meeting last week with 29 members present. We also welcomed guest Colleen to our meeting and we hope you will come back and join us soon. Winner of the Name Tag drawing was Joanne and winners of the 50/50 drawing were Tammy and Sandie. Vice President Karol presented and updated list of members. Minutes of the previous meeting were read by Secretary Sheila and approved. Treasurer Kim presented the Treasurer's report and it was accepted. Please contact Kim if you haven't paid your dues for the coming year. Dues are $25 per person. Project Chair reported on the successful table runner class in September taught by Pat and the successfull Stay At Home Retreat. Plans are already underway to have another camp in the spring. The October class will be zipper bags taught by JoEllen. Jessicas asked for a couple of volunteers to help with our annual Doe Sew that will be held on November 17. Connie volunteered to head up the Christmas party committee. Our Guild challenges for the year were Tree quilts and Scarecrow quilts. Several members met the challenge and showed their quilts. The 2026 challenge is String quilts and demonstrations of different techniques will be given after the November business meeting. Sunshine Sharyl reported she mailed out birthday cards to our October birthday girls. We also offer our prayers for Christina as she deals with health issues and we look forward to her return soon. Charity Chair Tammy reported on the recent Charity Sew and our members once again outdid themselves. Our Guild also donated a quilt for the Elk Fest auction and we hope it made some money for the chamber and found a new home. We thank our Newsletter Editor Karen for her many years of service to our Guild. At this time we do not have a newsletter editor so there will no longer be newsletters. Several members of our Guild will be holding a Quilt Sale on November 20 & 21 at the Chamber building in Atlanta, additional details will be available on our Facebookk page and in the Montmorency Tribune. Mark your calendars for January 29 - 31 as that is when we will hold our Winter Sew at Canada Creek Ranch. Tammy will have additional details at our November meeting. Installation of officers was held. We welcomed Sandie as our president and she received a spool of purple thread as a symbol of the highest rank and given the responsibility to keep the threads of the Guild from tangling and keeping the Guild moving forward. We welcomed Kim as our Secretary and she received a spool of orange thread as a symbol of cooperation and endurance and shows she will hold the thread of accuracy in keeping the Guild's records. Project Co-Chairs Jessica and Dee were given green thread as the projects they have for us in the coming year will make our non-member friends green with envy. (Dee was not in attendance at the meeting). Our meeting closed with a beautiul Show and Tell and a delicious luncheon.
