Formerly known as Georgia Radio Reading Service, Vocal Point is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering individuals with print disabilities through free, accessible audio content. We believe in the power of real human voices to uplift, inform, and connect.

Throwback to the 80’s with former CVI client Maxie Tope. Maxie was a client in both our Community Based Services Program (CBS) and our Low Vision Clinic. When Maxie started training at CVI she was low vision but through the course of her life, she eventually lost all of her vision, but this did not stop Maxie. She was a creative, determined, gracious and no-nonsense lady. Maxie didn’t care how things looked in her home (with regards to large printed signs hanging up) she only cared that they helped. She loved Georgia Radio Reading Service (GaRRS) and was interviewed by them on several occasions. Maxie was a client that exemplified independence!
