🎭The Arts Facet of the Camellia Rose (GA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated hosted a wonderful evening out at the Alliance Theatre to experience MEXODUS!

This powerful hip-hop musical brought to life a little-known chapter of American history—the Underground Railroad that led enslaved people south to freedom in Mexico, rather than north. Through music, storytelling, and incredible performances, we experienced a moving story of courage, freedom, and unity.

Today, we honor Indigenous peoples’ diverse cultures, histories, and ongoing contributions—and make space for Indigenous voices.

In 2021, President Joe Biden became the first U.S. president to issue a proclamation recognizing Indigenous Peoples’ Day on the second Monday in October.

This year’s theme, “Not Your Mascot: The Impact of (Mis)Representation,” highlights the work of Tribal Nations, Native organizations, scholars, students, and community leaders to retire mascots and imagery that perpetuate harmful stereotypes. Indigenous peoples deserve to be represented on their own terms.

Meet Morgan, chair of the Camellia Rose (GA) Technology Committee—and a longtime Marvel fan. She’s surprised to find herself enjoying “Lanterns” on HBO. Morgan wants to know what you think of the show. Are you Team DC or Team Marvel?🦹🏽‍♀️

The Links, Incorporated joins the world in recognizing World Mental Health Day—a time to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and reaffirm that mental health is an essential part of our overall health and well-being.

Mental Health remains an important priority to The Links, Incorporated and will ensure voices are heard to help shape the programs, and resources for our community.

This year’s theme, “Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change,” reminds us of the power of listening to and learning from people with lived experiences.
