Black Voters Matter Fund

Black Voters Matter Fund Black Voters Matter exists to build power in marginalized, predominantly Black communities. As Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Black Voters Matter is a 501(c)(4) dedicated to building power in marginalized Black communities through year-round civic engagement, authentic representation, and the fight for justice. We believe effective voting is more than casting a ballot; it is a way for communities to determine their own destiny. reminded us, “Power at its best is love implementing the demands of justice, and justice at its best is power correcting everything that stands against love.”

Our mission is guided by five core beliefs. We know that true civic engagement begins with respecting and strengthening local infrastructure. We believe Black Voters Matter not only on election day but every day of the year, supporting individuals and organizations striving for justice. We affirm that Black Voters Matter everywhere, including rural counties and small towns too often overlooked by politicians and the media. We are committed to using authentic messaging that speaks to our issues, connects with our hopes, and affirms our humanity. And we recognize that the leadership, talent, and commitment of Black women must not only be celebrated but also invested in so that it can flourish and multiply. We are dedicated to ensuring that Black voices are heard, valued, and empowered in every space where decisions are made.

The Vote To The Rhythm High School Senior Voter Registration Tour has been creating opportunities for students across North Carolina to learn about voting, get registered, and understand the power they hold in their communities.

By connecting young people with voter resources, education, and support, partner Peace Brothers is helping ensure more students are ready to make their voices heard at the ballot box.

Because civic engagement starts with information, access, and opportunity.

WHO GOT US? WE GOT US!

The Blackest Bus in America kicked off the first two days of our Ohio Tour with community, connection, and a shared commitment to building power across Ohio!

From knocking on doors and connecting with seniors to sharing early voting information at community events, churches, and gatherings, we’re meeting Ohioans where they are, answering questions, and making sure our people have the resources they need to make their voices heard, early!

We’re grateful to our partners who helped make these first two days possible: The Parks Collective, Ctrl R&B, Hope Heals LLC, Truth & Destiny Covenant Ministries, Schealthness Inc., Things That Matter Foundation, Columbus Stand Up, and Black Men Build 614. Thank you for showing up and helping us build power across our communities 365.

Early voting is underway in Ohio! Now is the time to make a plan, check your early voting options, and encourage your family, friends, and neighbors to cast their ballots.

We Got Us.

10/12/2026

Young people are thinking about way more than people assume.

They’re paying attention to what’s happening around them. They know what’s affecting their lives, communities, and futures. And they have something to say about it.

That really came through in this conversation.

And as we get closer to the election, conversations like this matter. The issues young people are talking about don’t exist in a vacuum. They impact all of us.

10/12/2026

The right to vote is about more than our own ballot.

It’s about making sure the people around us can vote, too.

Our family. Our neighbors. Our friends. People in communities across the country who deserve a fair chance to make their voices heard.

That means we can’t only care about voting when it affects us. We have to care when someone else is having a harder time getting to the ballot, too.

That’s what it means to put humanity first.

The midterms are coming. Check your voter status, make sure your information is up to date, and help someone else do the same.

A lot of people are asking the same questions:

Why is rent still rising?

Why are groceries so expensive?

Why does it feel harder to get ahead?

The answers don't always start in Washington. Many of the decisions affecting our daily lives are made closer to home.

When you join Texting Tuesday, you'll help connect voters to information about the issues impacting their communities and the people making those decisions.

Because understanding what's happening is the first step toward changing it.

Want to know exactly what will be on your ballot before you head to the polls? It only takes a few minutes to check. 🗳️

Start with https://bit.ly/4ze0NBj. Enter your home address to pull up your personalized sample ballot and find voting information for your area.

Once you pull it up:

🔎 Look it over. See which races and ballot measures you’ll be voting on.
📱 Save it to your phone. Give yourself time to review your ballot before you vote.
📍 Check where you’re voting. Know your polling location and when you can vote.
📝 Make your plan. Figure out when and how you’re going to cast your ballot.

Your ballot can include decisions that don’t always get the most attention. Don’t wait until you’re standing in the voting booth to find out what’s on it.

Pull your sample ballot. Make your plan. Know before you go.

And once you know what’s on your ballot, take the next step: make your plan to vote.

DAYTON, WE'RE COMING YOUR WAY.

Tomorrow we're hitting the doors, talking with neighbors, and building excitement around early voting.

Every conversation matters. Every voter matters. Every plan to vote matters.

When communities organize together, we remind people that their voices carry power long before Election Day arrives.

Come help us take that message across Dayton. 🔗 https://actionnetwork.org/forms/rsvp-we-got-us-ohio-tour-2

Black voters in Mississippi have the chance to do something great. Every conversation, every connection, and every effort to get our people to the polls matters. As we approach Election Day, we’re continuing to show up, share resources, and remind our communities that our voices and our votes matter.

From Jackson to the Delta, we brought voter education, community mobilization, and opportunities to get involved directly to the people.

We kicked things off in Jackson, mobilizing voters around absentee voting and joining community partners for a march to the Hinds County Circuit Clerk’s Office. In Holmes and Yazoo counties, we connected with local farmers and joined the Yazoo City community for a parade, continuing the work of bringing voter engagement into the spaces where our people gather.

We continued through Quitman County at the Mules and Blues Festival in Marks, connecting with residents and building on Mississippi’s rich legacy of organizing, resilience, and collective action.

We Got Us. And when we fight back, we win!

10/11/2026

What if we stopped asking, “Did you vote?” and started asking, “Who are you bringing with you?”

Think about your family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors. Who needs a reminder or help making a plan to vote?

We don’t have to do this alone. Check on someone, make a plan, and help each other get to the polls.

COLUMBUS, YOU'RE NEXT.

Tomorrow we're bringing together community members, faith leaders, organizers, and young people for conversations about voting, civic participation, and the future we want to build.

Strong communities don't happen by accident. They happen when people come together, stay informed, and take action.

Join us as we continue building power across Ohio. 🔗https://actionnetwork.org/forms/rsvp-we-got-us-ohio-tour-2

The future isn't something we wait for. It's something we create.
