🎟️ Meet the GAPTA Board: Vice President Rebecca Simmons 🎟️

Next up in our Getting to Know You series is Rebecca Simmons, Regional Ticketing Director at Live Nation and longtime Box Office Manager at Ameris Bank Amphitheatre.

With 21 years in ticketing, Rebecca has done almost everything—starting at a racetrack and ballpark (including a few tarp-pulling intern shifts!) before making stops at Ticketmaster, an NHL arena, performing arts venues, and eventually the concert world.

One of her favorite parts of the job? The people watching. From black band tees and cowboy hats to duck onesies and chains, Rebecca says every event brings something new—and unforgettable.

Rebecca first got involved with GAPTA in 2008 while new to the Atlanta market, building connections with fellow box office managers who even helped support early major shows at Ameris, including the Eagles.

She credits her success to having a sense of humor about it all, and having both a supportive family and an employer that encourages work/life balance—things everyone in live events knows is invaluable.

Next up in our Getting to Know You series is GAPTA board Member-At-Large Yenifer Onate.

Yenifer is the Senior Ticketing Operations Specialist at Gas South District, where she’s been part of the team since 2019. She brings six years of experience across concerts, arts, and sports, with a focus on customer support and operational problem-solving.

One standout moment in her career came during a last-minute artist cancellation. When Counting Crows had to cancel, a group of out-of-state guests were stressed and emotional. Through clear communication, quick refunds, and a steady, empathetic approach, Yenifer helped turn a difficult situation into a positive experience—one that later resulted in handwritten thank-you cards from the guests.

Yenifer credits her success to empathy, adaptability, and communication. In ticketing, where situations can change quickly and emotions often run high, she focuses on solutions while making sure patrons feel heard and supported. She also credits her director, Kim Kettler, as an important influence in her professional growth.

She was introduced to GAPTA through Gas South District and values the organization for bringing ticketing professionals together to share challenges, solutions, and insights that can be taken back to their venues.

We’re kicking off our Getting to Know You series with our newest fearless leader, new GAPTA board President Ben Dostal, Director of Ticketing & Analytics at Atlanta’s iconic The Fox Theatre

In just three years at the Fox, Ben has handled ticketing for concerts and the performing arts - but his experience spans all corners of sports and entertainment. His resume includes projects tied to some of the biggest events out there: the Super Bowl, Final Four, and The Masters. No big deal. 😉

Ben first got involved with GAPTA in 2014 while working at Center Stage and credits the organization with helping him build a strong professional network. For Ben, GAPTA is all about connection:

“I enjoy connecting with others who are doing the same work as me. We can learn so much from each other.”

A self-described “fan of the fan,” Ben says his success comes from loving the industry and rising to the challenge of high-pressure environments - while also learning the importance of setting boundaries along the way.

And because this is ticketing, not just business: Ben’s go-to on-sale drink is tea—unless things get really stressful, in which case it’s an ice-cold Coca-Cola. (Very on brand for an Atlantan.)
