Opportunity to Serve as Athlete Representative – Georgia Amateur Wrestling Association

Georgia Amateur Wrestling Association (GAWA), we would like to inform you of an exciting opportunity to serve as an Athlete Representative for Team Georgia.

The Athlete Representative position serves as the direct voice of athletes within Team Georgia. To be considered for this role, nominees should meet the following qualifications:
Have previously wrestled representing GAWA at the youth and/or high school level in local, regional, or national events.
Be a resident of Georgia and/or currently enrolled in a college or university in Georgia, in good standing as a member of that institution’s wrestling team.
Ideally, we hope to select one male and one female representative to ensure balanced athlete representation.
Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Acting as the voice and advocate for all wrestling athletes within the organization.
Working to ensure athletes’ rights and interests are protected.
Maintaining open communication between athletes and the GAWA Board.
Providing input on key organizational decisions that impact athletes.
Supporting initiatives that promote athlete development and engagement.
