Although I wasn’t able to post much while I was away, it was such an incredible time with an amazing group of leaders! I’m grateful for all the conversations, times of prayer, opportunities to fellowship, and ultimately the unity in vision and direction for Sportslink. I really believe that we are going to be seeing more leaders mobilized to sport fields among the least reached, more communities being engaged and more disciples being multiplied through sport, play and fitness in the coming years as a result of what was sown during this summit! Thanks for those who prayed and are continuing to pray!

Day 21 - We have reached the end! Thank you for everyone who has journeyed with us in prayer through these 21 days. Let’s keep it going through the whole year!

I would also love to hear about your experiences as you were praying and any words you felt the Lord give you during this time. Feel free to comment or DM us!

Day 20 - Awaken to walk in His Authority - in sports, like life itself easy to get your identity mixed up with what you do. The problem when that happens is that you forget both who you are and Whose you are. When that happens it’s not long before you find yourself striving to accomplish little things. Thanks be to our Heavenly Father though, His mercies are new each day and when we recall our identity and the authority we walk in through that identity we are able to once again walk in victory!

Today as you are praying for Sportslink, pray that our leaders would walk in the fullness of their identities in Christ and in His authority!

Day 19 - Awaken to Obedience - You know it’s interesting that Jesus didn’t say “if you love Me then worship me!” Or “if you love Me then sing intimate songs to praise My Name!” Instead He said, “if you love Me, then keep(obey, attend to carefully) My commands.”

If you have ever watched a youth sports team, it’s easy to see which teams/players love their coach, they are the ones who obey what he instructs them to do. Simple obedience is one of the clearest forms of love because it is an act of denying self to exalt someone else above ourselves. Just like Jesus obedience in the garden was His clear act of love and surrender to the Father, our obedience to Jesus is our demonstration of our love for Jesus.

As you pray for our Sportslink leaders today, pray that we would be growing in love and obedience to our Lord and Master, Jesus, our Redeemer!

Day 18 - Awaken to His Instruction - have you ever gone through your day and wished that there was an instruction manual for everything you are facing? The truth is that the Lord has left His instructions for us to follow if we will hear them. Are we listening? What has He been instructing you lately? How will you obey?

As you are praying for Sportslink coaches today, pray that they would be attentive and obedient to the instructions of the Lord!

Day 17 - Awaken to hear His voice - Even though one of our primary focuses in Sportslink is prayer it can sometimes become a “one way street” of communication. Always asking, always petitioning, but not always waiting on Him to speak. Yet without His direction, we as sheep get ourselves lost frequently! A primary focus for this fast has been to retune our ears to His voice.

As you pray today for Sportslink coaches and leaders today, pray that we would hear Him clearly and respond with obedience!

Day 16 - Awaken to living in the Kingdom - Jesus told His disciples to pray “Your Kingdom come, You will be done…” a prayer He, Himself, prayed in the garden when He said, “not My will, but Your’s be done.” Those prayers are being fulfilled in us as we learn to live out Kingdom life through obedience to His Word. The ultimate results will be every tribe, tongue, and nation standing before the throne of God in surrender and worship!

As you are praying today, pray for Sportslink coaches and leaders to live out the kingdom on sports fields among the least reached. Pray that His Kingdom would come and will be done on earth as it is in heaven!

Day 15 - Awaken to worship together - Corporate worship and praise is an extremely powerful activity. Yet one of the challenges of working in least reached areas is that corporate gatherings and most especially, corporate worship can bring unwanted attention from local authorities and even persecution. As you pray today will you lift up our coaches and leaders to have boldness and courage to continue gathering and worshipping together!

Day 14 - Awaken to His Protection - having played football, I know that one of the scariest things to do on the field is stand in the pocket trusting that your teammates will protect you from getting hit by a defensive player that you likely can’t see. To be calm in the face of that threat and still finish the play. While that certainly isn’t a life or death situation, it is a good analogy for what our coaches and leaders face everyday as they work in least reached communities around the world. Many have faced persecution, many have been arrested, many have had rulers and governments oppose them. Yet in the face of this theat they keep pressing on! What threats are you facing in your daily life? How will you keep at peace when the enemy is coming after you?

As you pray today, please pray for the Lord to cover our coaches and leaders in His divine protection!
