Dear Tiger Soccer Club Parents, Participants, and Coaches:
We are pleased to announce as of January 31, 2019, the Tiger Soccer Club (“TSC”) will officially return to become a Metro YMCA sponsored program. Effective that date, we will be managed by the Andrew and Walter Young Family YMCA (“YMCA”). The YMCA shares our vision for growth and development of our players and coaches. We will continue the mission of the club ”to teach life lessons through the game of soccer”. We started as a YMCA program and it is only fitting to return as a community-based program and build on our current success. Since the inception of TSC, the YMCA has been a partner to the Club, and we want to formalize the relationship in 2019. By way of background, TSC began its inaugural season in 1993 as a YMCA based program. Due to lack of funding, TSC, through the business community continued as a private soccer program. In 2011, TSC incorporated and became a nonprofit with 501c3 status. TSC has grown over the past 26 years. Its growth has predominantly stemmed from the participation of our parents, players, business participants and their referrals. We have attracted high-quality, committed athletes and coaches, and invested in their training, development and growth. Recently, TSC teams participated and won regional and state championships. Our Academy program won an invitation to Italy to participate in an International tournament. None of these accomplishments could have occurred without the dedication and hard work of volunteers and supporters. We would like to thank our staff, players, and their families for being a part of this program. We look forward to receiving your continued support and participation. We believe being managed under the Andrew and Walter Young Family YMCA will allow us to provide a wider array of opportunities and bring more depth to the program. With the change in management, there are several things we want to point out that will not change. • Most of the coaching staff will remain in place. • The fee structure for the upcoming season will not change. • Service delivery provided in the past will not change.
