Our Story
The African American Partnership (AAP) is an affinity group open to both Cole Society (donors who give $1,000-$9,999) and Tocqueville Society (donors who give $10,000+) annually. AAP is an engagement tool through which United Way invites the African American community to participate in greater numbers in the work of United Way. There are currently over 500 members of AAP, which accounts for $1,107,140 in revenue. AAP, formerly the African American Initiative, was launched in 2000 by Conchita Robinson of Robinson Associates Inc., and Charles Stephens, formerly of Skystone Ryan, Inc. The purpose was to increase United Way of Greater Atlanta’s presence in the African American community and increase the number of African American donors and volunteers.
