University Catholic Center at Emory University

University Catholic Center at Emory University Serving as the pastoral center for the students, faculty, staff, and community at Emory University.

The University Catholic Center, an agency of the Archdiocese of Atlanta, serves as a pastoral and educational resource for the Emory University, Agnes Scott College, and Oxford College communities. The objective of this ministry is to complement students’ secular education with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In this manner, the University Catholic Center walks with students as they become mature Cath

olic adults able to live faithfully and morally in their personal and professional lives. Join us for one of our several programs and activities throughout the year! There are many opportunities to explore, celebrate, deepen and live out your faith. Educational offerings include guest speakers, Archdiocesan programs, and co-sponsored events with other faith communities on the Emory campus. Worship with our community and participate as a lector, sacristan, liturgy, Eucharistic minister, altar server, singer, or musician. The University Catholic Center offers retreats during the year and provides for those who wish to explore their faith through spiritual direction. Scripture and homily groups meet regularly to study informally and to reflect upon the Scriptures, drawing upon Catholic biblical sources for interpretation. The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) provides instruction and Catholic formation for those who have never been baptized, those baptized in other Christian churches, and students who have not received Confirmation in the Catholic Church. The culmination of the OCIA process is the celebration of the Rites of Initiation at the Easter Vigil. As a Catholic community, we are also called to serve one another. Join us throughout the year for volunteer opportunities with local Atlanta organizations. Come by the house sometime to join us for daily Mass or to simply say hello! Grab a free cup of coffee and relax in our cozy living room or stop by the chapel to pray before the Blessed Sacrament! We’ve got a fully stocked kitchen for anyone wishing to cook a meal for themselves, free wireless internet access, and free parking!

Our Story

The University Catholic Center serves as the pastoral and educational center for Emory University, Oxford College, and Agnes Scott College. We exist to complement students' secular education with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and help students become mature Catholic adults able to live faithful and moral lives.

Since 1967, Catholic students have gathered at the University Catholic Center to form lasting friendships and find numerous ways to draw closer to Jesus through their faith. We are blessed to have an outstanding Catholic student community, propelled forward by the inspiration, ideas, interests, gifts, and talents of new students year after year.

We joyfully welcome you to join us at one of our many ongoing events! We would love the opportunity to meet and get to know you. You are always welcome to come by the house for daily Mass, to stop by the office to say hello, to grab a free cup of coffee and relax in our cozy living room, or stop by the chapel to pray before the Blessed Sacrament!

For information about our upcoming programming, check out our website, or check the ‘events’ tab on our page.
