Register today for our Fall Break Camp! We're just about three weeks away from a fun-filled adventure outdoors- every day is themed, every camp experience is unique. Campers will enjoy hands-on activities, seasonal crafts, and guided nature explorations perfect for curious young minds.

- Early Drop Off and Late Pickup options available! Adjusted pick up and drop off options provide an extra half hour.
- Registration can be for individual dates, or all the days.
- $110 per day

📸 We are so pleased to announce that Blue Heron is hosting a Gallery with Atlanta School Of Photography ! Join us on October 10th at 2pm after our Wildlife Photography Safari for a walk through exhibition of photography from asops students, teachers, and our very own park goers!

Speaking of which, we want YOUR photography! We’re excited to invite you to submit your work for a chance to be featured in our exhibit! All ages, all skill levels, all subjects. Featured photographers will receive a complimentary print of their work and have the opportunity to compete in one of our category submissions for a special prize. The deadline is September 19th, don’t miss out on this opportunity to showcase your talent! 🏆

🔍I spy with my little eye... Otters!! 🦦

The North American River Otter, Lontra canadensis, is one of Georgia’s own semi-aquatic mammals and can be found just about anywhere in North America. While river is in their name, river otters require only an aquatic year-round food source. This source can be found in marshes, swamps, estuaries, and of course rivers.

This is a super cool sighting! Thank you for submitting photos of wildlife to Blue Heron, we always love seeing who's on the preserve!

Join us in September for next months Saturday Safari! Our guides Max and Kent Watkins from Trees Atlanta are visiting to teach us about the trees that live amongst us in the City in the Forest.

We’ll explore the trails, learn how to recognize a few of our leafy neighbors, and discover some of their remarkable adaptations and ways they support the local ecosystem and Atlanta. This is your chance to slow down, wander beneath the canopy, and experience our urban forest through a fresh lens.

Wow, were glad people are as excited about coyotes as we are! The room (and the parking lot) was packed!

Community members came together to learn about the wild world of this underrated, beautiful animal. Visitors stuck around after to ask more questions, to find out how to support our wildlife, and to talk with other guests about all that we learned.

Second Saturday Safaris occur monthly at Blue Heron. We meet on the Preserve on Saturday morning and invite an expert to share some of their knowledge with us. Next months theme is Trees of the Preserve, with the Atlanta Tree Foundation!
