Breathe Deep Atlanta Breathe Deep Atlanta is a grassroots event in Atlanta, GA, to raise funds and awareness for lifesaving lung cancer research, education, and support programs.

Breathe Deep Atlanta is a grassroots event that began in 2009 in memory of a father lost to lung cancer. The event is planned and managed by a small group of committed individuals joined together to fight America's leading cancer killer. Since its inception, the event has raised $250,000 for research, education, and support programs while attracting hundreds of participants each year. What started

as an event in memory of one person has grown to honor lung cancer survivors in the community, remember loved ones lost to lung cancer, and provide hope to patients and their families.

“I lost my sweet, loving Mama to lung cancer in December 2012 after a 4-month fight,” says Breathe Deep Atlanta committee member Jessica Meeks. “I was 5 months pregnant with my beautiful little boy at the time and wish that, back then, we all had the resources LUNGevity helps provide lung cancer patients and families. I participate in this 5K to honor her memory and help an organization I believe in – an organization that fights daily to help other families have a different, better ending than ours!”
