This Mental Health Awareness Month, weโ€™re shining a light on Dami, a current BLKHLTH CARES fellow in our Georgia youth mental health cohort.

Hear about how her challenges with accessing consistent mental health care deepened her commitment to helping others in her community. ๐Ÿ’œ

Through CARES, fellows like Dami are building the knowledge, confidence, and advocacy skills to turn lived experience into action for health equity. ๐Ÿš€

Black youth ages 13-24 account for half of all new HIV diagnoses in that age group. This is why itโ€™s imperative that leaders and decision makers listen to what they need regarding their health, education, and access.

The message is clear: young people want real conversations and prevention resources like PrEP.

Thank you to the participants who lended their voices to our Speak Our Future video series.

Stigma is one of the biggest barriers to HIV prevention and care.

But the reality is HIV is highly treatable. There are also effective ways to prevent it, including PrEP, with options that fit different lifestyles; from daily pills to long-acting injectables given every 6 months.

This National Youth HIV & AIDS Awareness Day, weโ€™re calling out stigma and making space for something different.

Today, on National Youth HIV & AIDS Awareness Day , weโ€™re centering youth voices and the need for honest, accessible education.

Black youth continue to be disproportionately impacted by HIV, making this conversation all the more urgent. Young people deserve clear information, real options, and the ability to make informed decisions about their health.

Thank you to these dedicated young individuals who shared their stories with us, and our partners PrEP In Black America and Gilead Sciences.
