Our CEO shared some thoughts on the conversation, and we couldn’t agree more. 🎭

The discussion around the future of the arts is bigger than one comment. It’s about audience engagement, innovation, and how we ensure the performing arts continue to thrive for the next generation.

Let us know your thoughts and join the conversation. 💬

We asked our CEO some questions, and apparently he got jokes 😏

In this episode of “So What Do You Do?” DuMarkus Davis shares what it takes to run a nonprofit: the highs, the lows, and everything in between. Did we forget anything?

P.S. For what it’s worth, we thought his dad should at least get an interview 🤷🏾‍♀️

Since 2017, our Filmer Program has paired emerging filmmakers with local artists to create short documentary portraits that capture the creative heartbeat of South Fulton.
To date, we’ve produced 72 original films — documenting artists, preserving cultural history, and giving creatives professional assets they can use to advance their careers. Each project is co-owned by the filmmaker and artist, turning the process into both a learning experience and a long-term opportunity.
Filmer isn’t just about making films. It’s about building a living archive of our region’s culture while creating real pathways for artists and storytellers to grow.
As we prepare the next round of premieres in 2026, we’re proud to continue investing in the voices shaping our community’s future.

Fundraising is a lifestyle at this point. The transition from venture tech to non-profit has it differences, but needing money for the cause isn’t one of them. I’m just happy to get to do it for a cause I’m passionate about. Gotta love the kids. Gotta love the arts.

As the Institute advances its mission through a rebrand, DuMarkus steps into this role with deep community roots and a strong track record of building partnerships and driving organizational growth.
