Please join us in welcoming Kayla Peeples as the newest member of the Harriett’s Daughters Board of Directors, serving as Board Secretary. 💜

Kayla is deeply committed to supporting young girls and women through grief healing, connection, and community. Her heart for service, belief in our mission, and desire to create meaningful impact make her a wonderful addition to the Harriett’s Daughters family.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Georgia and remains actively involved in her community. Outside of her professional and community work, Kayla describes herself as a “Golden Girls super watcher” and enjoys decompressing by putting together puzzles.

Most importantly, Kayla believes deeply in the work we do and the girls and families we serve. We are truly excited for all she will bring to our organization.

Mother’s Day can bring up so many different emotions, and today we’re thinking about all of them. 💜

We hope everyone who is celebrating, remembering, grieving, honoring, caregiving, or simply making it through the day has felt supported and surrounded by love in some way.

At Harriett’s Daughters®, we especially hold close the girls and families navigating maternal cancer, loss, treatment, and grief. To the daughters missing their mothers today, and to those walking beside a mother through illness, we see you and we’re thinking of you.

We also want to acknowledge the fathers, grandparents, family members, mentors, and mother figures who continue showing up with love, care, and consistency. Your presence matters more than words can fully express.

For some, today was joyful. For others, it was heavy. For many, it was both at the same time.

No matter what today looked like for you, we hope you felt loved, supported, and not quite so alone. 💜

We had our first Harriett’s Daughters Sunday Stroll yesterday!

I’m really grateful for everyone who came out, walked with us, and showed up to support. It meant a lot to see everyone in community!

And for those who wanted to be there but couldn’t make it, we appreciate your support as well.

Join us for our Harriett’s Daughters Sunday Stroll 💜

We’re gathering for a relaxed community walk along the BeltLine in support of the mission of Harriett’s Daughters.

📅 Sunday, March 22
⏰ 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

📍 Meet at the Eastside Trail near Park Tavern at Piedmont Park.

Look for the purple and white shirts or balloons.

RSVP is encouraged. The first 20 RSVPs will receive a Harriett’s Daughters shirt, but everyone is welcome to join the walk.

On Sunday, March 22, we’ll gather for an afternoon of fresh air, connection, and community along the Piedmont Park/Eastside Trail. Whether you’ve been connected to our work for years or you’re just getting to know us, we’d love for you to mark your calendar.

We are incredibly thankful, grateful, and truly honored to share that Harriett’s Daughters was selected to receive a $12,500 grant from Dignity Memorial.

Out of more than 40 submissions, Harriett’s Daughters was selected as the top grant recipient. This recognition means so much to our organization and, most importantly, to the girls and families we serve. We were notified in October, and the grant was officially awarded in December.

These funds will support our Scholar Gift Program, mentoring program, grief counseling services, and general operating needs. This support allows us to continue providing meaningful, wraparound care to girls who have experienced the death of their mothers.

We also extend our sincere thanks to Sarita Martin, a member of our Board of Directors, for submitting our organization for consideration.

For Dignity Memorial providers, there is no greater honor than helping to remember a life lived. Their commitment to listening, caring, and guiding families through life’s most difficult moments aligns deeply with our mission.

We extend our sincere appreciation to everyone involved in making this grant possible. This support truly matters to our organization and to the girls and families we are honored to serve. 💜

This has been a long time coming! For a while, we’ve had our eye on the right tool to help us better streamline our mentoring program—and we finally made it happen! 🙌🏾

We were honored to join the 4th Annual Northside Hospital Cancer Institute’s Patient & Care Partner Education Conference this past Saturday. 💜

It was a wonderful day of connection—sharing information, resources, and support with patients, care partners, and families. We’re grateful for the chance to be part of such an impactful event and to stand alongside a community rooted in compassion and care.
