The Georgia Chapter of Bowie State University National Alumni Association, was re-established, July 2018, with Earl Speights of Augusta, Georgia, as President. During Speights’ tenure, he established a partnership with the HBCU Alliance of Augusta to host College fairs for which Earl has been the Chairperson; Speights has hosted numerous tai

lgates for Bowie State University in the name of the chapter, during the University’s games in Georgia; And for the past four years, the chapter has sponsored Georgia families during the holidays. In, 2021, Carla Morrison of Atlanta, Georgia, became President of the BSUNAA-GA Chapter, where she has taken the chapter to another level virtually and in-person. Morrison has used technology to create community online; she also developed a social media campaign to establish relationships with other Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs) from the DMV area with chapters in Georgia, as well as Georgia Chapters of various HBCU’s in the Southern Region. Under Morrison’s leadership, the Georgia Chapter of Bowie State University National Alumni Association has hosted a “Bulldog Wine-Tasting”, “Bulldog Brown Bag lunch & walk”, "Bulldog Ice Cream ‘Sundae’ Social Send-off" for in-coming GA Freshmen, as well as “Brunching with Bowie State Bulldogs” Scholarship Fundraiser.

“The goal for the Georgia Chapter of BSUNAA is to establish a presence through-out Georgia, identify Bowie State University Alumni in the area, recruit students, provide scholarships and community service, as a part of the strategic plan of BSUNAA,” Carla Morrison.
