OBAN Family – We Did It! 🎉

In case you haven’t heard the great news—we hit our $10,000 goal! That means Lauren Warner ’02 is officially matching it! 🔥

We will be getting the final numbers soon, but this is a huge step forward for OBAN and our mission to build a strong community for mentorship, scholarship, and connection among Black students and alumni.

This is just the beginning! Let’s keep the momentum going and continue making OBAN a powerful force for support and success. More updates and opportunities to get involved coming soon—stay tuned!

Who is coming to this year’s Family Reunion?

Here is what Lauren Blakely Hunt shared,

“Having left the social distance era and entered this new remote work era, I found myself super excited to (re)develop meaningful connections and relationships with other Oglethorpe Alumni in person last year.

Oglethorpe Black Alumni Network’s: The Family Reunion, which was open to former students of all backgrounds, provided black alumni in particular energized social connections and rich contexts of cultural familiarity that helped “break the ice” to the entire Oglethorpe Alumni Weekend.

Leaving the event, I felt connected, at ease, proud to be a Petrel and more excited to reconnect or form new relationships in the greater Oglethorpe network that weekend! That’s powerful and it makes me incredibly grateful to be apart of OBAN. I look forward to this year’s reunion!”
