Thank you to all who joined us last month to contact voters ahead of the primary election! Now, we’re turning our attention to the runoff elections for statewide and local races on June 21.

We’re joining again with Fair Fight Action to call voters and encourage them to make a plan to vote in this upcoming election. Directly contacting voters is the best way to ensure they have the information needed for this election.

📞 Please join us on June 14 and June 19 for a text bank training and phone banking session: https://www.mobilize.us/fairfight/

Note: When you sign up for a Fair Fight phonebank, please list Bend the Arc as your organization.

While this summer has been a time of relaxation for many, the fight for immigration justice is still going strong. This summer, members of the Defund Hate coalition — including Bend the Arc — have been advocating to defund ICE & CBP and for a just pathway to citizenship for millions and we are so close to improving policy.

On August 18, 2021 members of Bend the Arc: Jewish Action Atlanta, along with people across the country, will be having lobby visits with their representatives to advocate to defund ICE & CBP and fight for a path to citizenship.

We would love for you to join us on 8/18 and share why immigration reform is important to you. We’ll have time for you to meet with the group beforehand to prepare, and folks from other organizations may join the visit as well!

If you are interested and able to attend a visit on 8/18 (exact time TBD), please email Judy Robbins at [email protected] to RSVP.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS: Come join SHINDC on July 1, 8-9 pm (EDT) as we hear from Dr. Laura Arnold Leibman, author of Once We Were Slaves, which highlights the extraordinary story of Sarah Brandon Rodrigues. Born into slavery in Colonial Barbados, Rodrigues goes on a journey of exploration of her Sephardic Jewish roots, which leads her to New York's white and Jewish elite, and opens the door for her children who go on to become leaders within the Spanish & Portuguese Jewish community.
