Calling EVERYONE interested in hearing about the massive changes coming to Pittman Park.

SAVE THE DATE!
On Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Atlanta Department of Watershed Management will host a special meeting to present updates to the community about the Stormwater Integrated Gray and Green Infrastructure project planned for Pittman Park.

This will be the SECOND meeting to get more input from the community on the planned upgrades that will dramatically change our park. THINK ponds, bio-retention islands, improved parking, drainage management...

WE NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU! The meeting will be held in Pittsburgh at the Pittman Park Recreation Center 950 Garilbaldi Street SW.

Come on out and make YOUR needs heard.

LoveLoveLove that our Pittman Park Recreation Center mural project and our new Sarah K. Lowrie Memorial Garden are being appreciated by our Pittsburgh families! Mrs. Lynneese Wooten just shared photos from her wedding reception held at the center. She used our artwork and garden as the backdrop for pictures that will forever record her special day. Aren't the photos BEAUTIFUL! Congratulations Lynneese!

Our beautiful Sarah K. Lowrie Memorial Garden is complete! Friends of Pittman Park is so excited to have worked on a project requested by so many families who were impacted by Mrs. Lowrie's dedication to Pittman Park and her contributions to Atlanta's historic Pittsburgh neighborhood.

The garden was the first phase of our 2024-25 grant from Park Pride. Next is a fun, colorful mural and new pool furnishings, just in time for Summer Fun!

Friends of Pittman Park is thrilled to announce that we’ve been awarded a 2025 grant from ! With the funding, we'll FINALLY be able to properly honor the history and legacy of Mrs. Sarah K. Lowrie, whose hard work and dedication led to the actual building of the Pittman Park Recreation Center. Our Friends group has created a beautification project that will transform the Garibaldi side of the building. We're installing a gorgeous SARAH K. LOWRIE MEMORIAL GARDEN, complete with a metal historic marker, a dry creek bed, accent lighting, park benches and more! For PART 2 of our grant, we'll change the look of PITTMAN PARK POOL~with a brand new mural to decorate the inside walls, tables with umbrellas, lounge chairs, pool chairs and more. Now you'll be proud to invite family and friends to enjoy the largest pool in ANY city of Atlanta park. The impact of these projects on our park and neighborhood will be huge. Work begins NOW!
