In our churches across the country, we’ve seen that too many families are choosing between a prescription and a bill. That’s why we’re working to make sure programs like the 340B Drug Pricing Program reach the people they were built for to make medications accessible.
Our President & CEO Rev.Kimberly L. Williams joined the BWHI (Black Women’s Health Imperative) Capitol Hill panel, “Restoring 340B’s Promise” to bring that community perspective into the conversation.

She was joined by incredible panelists and experts on 340B and community health, including Kalvin Pugh of Community Access National Network (CANN), Rosa Castillo Krewson, Ph.D. of Organization for Latino Health Advocacy (OLHA), and Lydia A. Isaac, PhD of National Urban League , with BWHI Executive Vice President Dr. Ifeoma Udoh moderating.

We were proud to see our Founder and Board Chair, Debra Fraser-Howze, receive the Health Award from The Black Women’s Agenda at its 49th Annual Symposium Awards Luncheon in Washington, D.C.

Long before Choose Healthy Life, Debra was bringing attention to the impact of HIV/AIDS in Black communities and pushing public health leaders to respond. She founded the National Black Leadership Commission on AIDS in 1987, helped shape the Minority AIDS Initiative and advised two U.S. presidents on HIV/AIDS.

She brought that same approach to Choose Healthy Life: start with the community, work through institutions people trust and make sure people can actually get the care they need.

We’re still feeling the energy from our 2026 Choose Healthy Life Capitol Hill Day! Our President & CEO Rev.Kimberly L. Williams led the day in the Dirksen Senate Office Building, bringing Congressional leaders, clergy, health experts, and our corporate partners together around better health outcomes for our communities.

We were honored to welcome Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib , who joined us on Capitol Hill for a third straight year and took the podium to address the room.

Our Founder & Board Chair Debra Fraser-Howze and CHL Clergy Council Co-Chair Bishop Leah Daughtry welcomed everyone and shared community, faith, and health insights with the room.

Our panel brought together CHL New York Clergy Leader Lawrence Aker, CHL Chief Strategy & Operations Officer Yolanda D Mack, CHL Dean of Education Dr. Melissa Clarke, Que English, and Pamela Barnes of Elm Capitol Group for a conversation on the Health Access Innovation Act, coverage for anti-obesity medications, and 340B Drug Pricing Program reform.
