Who We Are
Through a partnership between generous donors and The River, we built the Hope and Dignity Community Center to serve one of the most economically challenged areas of the city. We opened in June 2019, with the building so aptly named to provide hope and dignity to the wonderful people of west Atlanta. With about 1/2 of the community being homeless, it is all that you can imagine a poor and struggling neighborhood to be. And, it is also so much more! The Center provides connections to critical services for adults, like housing, medical and mental health care, substance abuse recovery referrals, job training, and adult literacy programming. And, we have programming and resources to serve the kids of the neighborhood.
