When Connelly was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, her family learned that she could have been screened before symptoms appeared. This video shares their story and highlights the importance of early detection and screening, which can help reduce the risk of DKA at diagnosis, provide families with more time to prepare, and connect them to education, monitoring, and emerging therapies earlier in the disease process.
