Moments like these matter.
This week, participants at The Friendship Center, Inc. took a field trip to the Atlanta Botanical Garden to experience the lights, laughter, and joy of being together in community.

Thank you to everyone who helped make it possible.

Thanks for the pics, Roy Eugene Coker

A couple of volunteers were out this weekend repainting the parking lot stripes. It might seem small, but clear lines make a big difference here at Holy Comforter. Our Friendship Center vans come and go all week, bringing participants to programs. Volunteers and partners drop off food and groceries daily. People arrive here looking for support, connection, and welcome.

Fresh, visible stripes help everyone get in safely and find their way. It is one more simple way we try to keep our campus open, accessible, and genuinely welcoming to all.

Some of the most meaningful ministry happens around a shared table.

Every Sunday and Wednesday, our shared meals bring people together for nouriment, conversation, and connection.

It is one of the most beautiful ministries we offer, and we need partners to help keep it going.

We’re looking for groups who can provide lunch on upcoming Sundays. We especially need a meal provider for December 28, and we are also scheduling groups for many 2026 dates. If your group wants to serve in a meaningful, hands-on way, this is a wonderful opportunity.

You can contact our parish office with any questions. And when you join us, we hope you stay for worship. New faces bring new joy, and chances are good that Jesus will meet you here.

A special thank you to St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church - Atlanta, GA for providing lunch this Sunday. We are grateful for you!

Halloween joy filled the halls at The Friendship Center today! 🎃 Members and friends came together to decorate pumpkin cookies, share laughter, and celebrate community.

From cookie decorating to a surprise visit from a friendly dinosaur 🦖, the day was full of fun, connection, and warmth.

We’re so grateful for everyone who helps make The Friendship Center a place of belonging and joy, a ministry of Holy Comforter Episcopal Church where everyone is welcomed, valued, and loved.

This past weekend, five of our Friendship Center participants and Holy Comforter parishioners spent time at Camp Mikell for the Allan Folk School. It was a weekend filled with creativity, connection, and community.

Participants explored a variety of workshops, including watercolor painting, quilting, copper enameling, and more. Between art sessions, we enjoyed the beauty of nature, shared meals, and time together in reflection and laughter.

It was a truly special time to rest, create, and be inspired in the company of friends. The weekend reminded us of the joy that comes from learning and growing together.

We’re spending the day at the East Atlanta Strut! If you’re here, stop by our booth and say hello.

At Holy Comforter and the Friendship Center, we walk alongside neighbors facing poverty and health challenges, creating a community of care through meals, art, worship, and friendship. Today’s a chance to share that story with our wider neighborhood, and to meet new friends along the way!
