Barred Business is a membership based organization founded by multi generational, multi gender, and multi national formerly incarcerated black women to empower marginalized formerly incarcerated people. Our mission is to heal, empower, educate, activate, resource, and build the power of all marginalized justice-impacted people, LGBTQI people and Trans people of color, their children, families, and communities.

This organization is a lifeline, providing mentoring, groceries, interview attire, and support to women reacclimating into society. Tabatha's deep understanding of the system's challenges comes from her own journey of incarceration. During that time, she faced the unimaginable: her two children placed in foster care. 🧡

But here's where her story takes an awe-inspiring turn. Tabatha refused to let the system defeat her. She advocated tirelessly and, with sheer determination, regained FULL custody of her children. 🙌🏾

Now, as a mother of five, she dedicates her advocacy to helping formerly incarcerated mothers navigate the same custody battles she once faced. She's also a champion for those grappling with mental health issues stemming from incarceration. 💞
