Surviving and Overcoming Butterflies Facility

Our vision is a world where people can co-exist in a community
free from all forms of violence.

The Overcoming Butterflies is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that aims to provide a safe space for survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse by providing holistic care and complete facilities. We match and provide services for
both men and women who are survivors of domestic violence in the locality to overcome their trauma and transform their lives. We draw our inspiration from the life

cycle of butterflies, which goes through a long process before they emerge as full-grown butterflies, ready to spread their wings. In the same way, we believe that despite the dark pages of one’s
experience, one can still live a life full of color.

Dear God,

We approach Your throne of grace with saddened hearts as we bury our beloved father. Trembling before You, we seek comfort from our Heavenly Father. Comfort our family, Lord, with Your divine love. May we feel Your arms wrapped around each of us as we grieve the death of our father, who loved, nurtured, and watched over us. Allow us to find the strength to overcome our loss and peace to calm our restless hearts. Allow us to know You are with us during these moments of silence as we say goodbye to our father. Remind us that we are not alone and that through Your glory, we will be reunited with him for eternity. May the love, compassion, and wisdom that our father shared with us throughout his life remain with us always and give us the desire to make him proud each and every day. Allow us to console each other through our grief and help us to see the moments of beauty through our tears. Guide our father to where You are waiting for him, and surround him with Your everlasting love and rest. Give us the strength to go on without him, knowing that nothing can separate us from the gift of his love.

It is with a broken heart full of love that I’m writing this. My father passed away this morning and went home to be with the Lord. 🕊️
*I said MY FATHER. He was my father. Some of you will choose to say stepfather, but that word was never his. He didn’t view me as his stepdaughter, and he never treated me that way. He took me as his own, loved me as his own, and invested in me as if I were his own because I was. Jewels, he chose me. A MAN like that is hard to come by.
He was my rock. The man who helped shape me into the woman I am today. Every word he spoke to me, every sacrifice he made for me, and every moment he invested in me lived on through me and my character.
He loved God with his whole heart, he loved his family fiercely, and he loved hard. He showed me what it looks like to be strong. To have faith. To love unconditionally. And I will spend the rest of my life learning from everything he taught me and continue to honor him by living out what he taught and invested in me.
My heart is destroyed, but I find comfort in knowing he’s not in pain anymore. He’s with our Father, resting and whole. Heaven welcomed one of the greatest men today.
If you’re reading this and you knew him and loved him, please continue to keep our family in your prayers. We are taking everything one day at a time, leaning on God and each other.
I love you so much. Thank you for choosing me, and thank you for giving me the best father I could have ever asked for. I will never forget you, and I’ll see you again one day. Until then, rest easy. * 🙏❤️

It’s been two years since the day our brother shared the news of your passing 😭😭😭💔💔💔, and what a profound journey it has been. Life’s path has taken a dramatic turn since then, and though words evade me, I know you’d want us to celebrate your legacy with gratitude and joy, given the incredible bond we shared. Your absence leaves an indelible mark, yet your memory fuels my determination to seize every moment. I’m holding onto the treasured moments we shared, and they’re continuing to inspire me.

I like to take this time out and wish my husband a happy 54th birthday! I pray that God bless you with many more. I love you so much 💜

As I wish you on your birthday, I think of when you first walked into my life. We’ve shared a few more years and a few more birthdays since then, and we’ve discovered that life is so much more than we first imagined.

Love is waking up to each other in the morning and falling asleep beside each other at night. It’s sharing all of our life - the good parts and the hard parts - and knowing no matter what happens, we’ll always be together. It’s laughing, praying, loving, and living together.
