Neighbors for a United Atlanta

Neighbors for a United Atlanta Neighbors for a United Atl formed to oppose the B'head secession movement. We helped keep Atlanta one city. Now we’ve reorganized to focus on what’s next.

We came together around a shared belief: what happens in one part of Atlanta affects the whole city.

Atlanta has a choice to make.

For decades, growth hasn’t reached every neighborhood equally. That’s how we ended up with a “tale of two cities.”

Now, the plan to change that is already in motion through the Neighborhood Reinvestment Initiative.

Extending Atlanta’s Tax Allocation Districts (TADs) would allow the city to keep reinvesting growth back into neighborhoods that have been left behind, funding housing, transit, small businesses, and more at the scale needed to actually make a difference.

This isn’t a new tax.
It’s not a tax increase.
And it doesn’t take existing funding away.

It’s about whether we use the tools we have to shape Atlanta’s future, or leave it up to chance.

📣 Now is the moment to speak up.

Contact your City Councilmembers, APS Board members, and Fulton County Commissioners and let them know you support extending Atlanta’s TADs.

What's actually being proposed?

Extending Atlanta's existing TADs through 2055 to fund the Neighborhood Reinvestment Initiative (NRI) at the scale it requires.

That means keeping growth dollars working in the neighborhoods that generated them, especially communities that have experienced decades of disinvestment, instead of leaving outcomes to market forces alone.

This is about closing real gaps:

• Life expectancy
• Income
• Access to opportunity
..and doing it with a tool that already works.

Not a new tax. Not a tax increase. Not taking from schools.

Hello again, Atlanta.

Many of you first followed this page when we came together to keep our city united. We shared what was at stake, and together, we made a difference.

But the challenges behind that moment didn’t go away.

Too many Atlanta neighborhoods have been left behind for far too long. And when parts of a city fall behind, it affects the whole city.

That’s why we support extending Atlanta’s TADs.
