🌸 What Happens at BLOOM? 🌸

BLOOM (Birthing Love Outreach & Optimal Motherhood) is a monthly community education series where families can learn, connect and gain practical tools for pregnancy, birth and postpartum.

At our recent session, Pur and Yeyo shared valuable information on postpartum essentials and self-care while participants enjoyed delicious chicken noodle soup and meaningful conversation.

Our second Georgia Black Doula Network Bloom Series gathering was a wonderful evening of learning, connection and community.

A special thank you to Pur and Yeyo for sharing valuable information and practical insights about postpartum health, recovery and self-care. The conversation was engaging, informative and filled with takeaways that support families during the postpartum journey.

And of course, we enjoyed some delicious chicken noodle soup while connecting with one another and building community.

This weekend, we kicked off Georgia Black Doula Network’s Cohort Three Orientation Weekend with a wonderful Meet & Mingle, bringing together new and returning members of our growing community.

We also celebrated a major milestone by honoring and graduating members of our previous cohort. Their dedication, growth, and commitment to supporting Black families inspire the work we continue to do every day.

As we congratulate our graduates, we are equally excited to welcome Cohort Three as they begin their journey into doula work. We look forward to supporting, learning, and growing together as we continue building a stronger network of birth workers across Georgia.

🌿✨ BLOOMing in ATL: Community & Family was a Beautiful Success! ✨🌿

On August 29, we kicked off our BLOOMing in ATL series with an incredible gathering focused on “Eating for Two: Healthy Pregnancy & Breastfeeding Essentials.” We were honored to welcome families, community members, and birth workers for an afternoon of learning, connection, and empowerment.

A special thank you to PUR'S Creole Eatery and ⁕ mika ⁕, GBDN cohort 2 graduates, for generously preparing delicious, healthy smoothies for our attendees! Your contribution helped bring our nutrition-centered discussion to life and gave participants practical inspiration for nourishing themselves and their growing families. 💚🥤

We are also grateful to our partners at Center for Black Women’s Wellness Center Black Women's Wellness for helping create a welcoming space where families can access culturally affirming perinatal education and support.
