Ever wondered who is really qualified to run for the United States President⁉️Per the United States Constitution, Article 2, Section 1; “No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.”

Now take the time to reflect and review some of the presidential candidates who have have filed to run for president with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) or announced exploratory committees to date. However as of May 23rd, there are more than 700 candidates who have filed to run for President. 🫠

Remember the 60th presidential election will be held on November 5, 2024. 🗳️The winner of the 2024 presidential election will be sworn into office on January 20, 2025. 🇺🇸

As a new initiative with the 2023 Miss Black Georgia International Ambassador and , New Freedom School would like to present our new series entitled “How to Get Involved in Politics Beyond the Vote” 🗳️

In this series, we will share various ways to participate after marching to the polls. For our first post, we want you to get involved with your local government by attending public meetings‼️

🗣️That’s right we said PUBLIC MEETINGS, which are open for constituents to attend in-person, virtually, or by phone 👀 So go ahead and swipe through our post to learn more about getting involved with your local government.

After yesterday’s mass shooting in the City of Atlanta, we received an open letter from Mayor Andre Dickens thanking the Atlanta Police Department, Cobb County Police Department, Atlanta Fire Rescue Department, and Grady for all of their services. 💙❤️

Mayor Dickens even thanked the community members for remaining calm during this situation and addressed the need to implement gun safety laws.

This is now your time to get involved with this ongoing nationwide initiative. The initiative will respect the rights of the 2nd Amendment, while promoting constitutional gun safety laws.

You can approach this is various ways beyond voting. You can get involved by starting a social media campaign, donate, share your message within local art, attend city meetings, join a political campaign, join a local board or commission, run for city council, write a letter or call your legislators, OR join the Georgia Coalition for Safe Communities.
