THE POWER OF PLAY ⚾️

Our L.E.A.D. Center For Youth BBATL Futures boys turned a turf field into a baseball field. Wiffle ball. Wiffle bat. No gloves. Just play!

Good coaching matters, but sometimes coaches interrupt development by teaching too much.

Let boys pick teams, make decisions, solve problems, compete and have fun.

Sometimes the best coaching is knowing when NOT to coach.

⚾️ Boys Being Boys. Future Men Being Built.

At L.E.A.D. Center For Youth BBATL Futures at Trinity School Atlanta, baseball is bigger than base hits. One minute they’re talking baseball cards with their friends, the next they’re stepping up to the plate.

They’re having fun, building friendships, learning leadership and developing the character they’ll need to become strong men.

Let boys be boys while we prepare them to become men.

Our L.E.A.D. Center For Youth Futures boys putting in work on the turf at Trinity School Atlanta.

Yep. That’s a base hit. ⚾️

The word “coach” originally described a vehicle that carried people from one place to another.

That’s still the job.

A coach’s words can be a powerful vehicle, moving a young person from where they are toward the best version of who they can become.

Encourage. Equip. Empower. 🚀

Base hit. RBI. Team effort. ⚾️

In baseball, school, and life, nobody wins alone. Mastery takes teamwork. Those lessons can begin with a Wiffle ball and bat.

Safe or out? You make the call! ⚾️👀

Boys need opportunities to play. Movement incites cognition.

Pitch a strike. Field your position. Make the throw. Compete through the play.

That’s baseball, but it’s also social emotional learning in action: focus, confidence, decision making, emotional regulation, and resilience.

The batter was safe, but development still happened.

We’re developing the player and the person.

Errant throws become perfect throws by making errant throws.

Let them take risks. Let them miss. Let them learn.

That’s baseball. That’s life.

Facing tough pitches isn’t just baseball, it’s life. You won’t always get the pitch you want, but you still have to stay ready, stay disciplined, and take your best swing. The same way you adjust in the box, you’ve got to adjust in life. Stay locked in. Timing, patience, and confidence turn tough pitches into opportunities.

A perfect slide into second base is the icing on the play.
