Three months ago, all we wanted was for this day to come.

We’ve kept hearing that grass tastes better on the other side of quarantine fencing, and today we finally got to find out for ourselves. 🌱

There was running. There was munching. There were joyful little leaps and then, every few minutes, we’d trot back to our hoomans just to make sure they were watching and to collect a few well-earned scratches.

The last few months haven’t always been easy as we’ve worked through some health worries together, but hopefully those days are behind us now. We’re taking things slowly so our tummies can adjust to all this delicious grass, but oh… what a happy chapter this feels like.

We have a feeling we’re going to love it out here.

Breaking news: the hoomans think laundry day is about washing the items in our house.

Meanwhile, we’ve been hard at work inspecting every blanket, tunnelling through mountains of clean laundry, creating expertly engineered hidey-holes, and tipping over baskets for absolutely no reason whatsoever. 🧺🐀

Honestly, it’s our favourite day of the week. We get an epic playground and a sparkling clean room afterwards.

The hoomans call it chores.

We call it enrichment. 😌

Love,
Happy & Fern 💕

Some conversations don’t need many words… just distance, curiosity, and a whole lot of baa-ing across a fence.

From quarantine, Donny and Marie have been getting used to the sounds and smells of their new world — and today, that world answered back.

Across the barn, Tim and Alex were very much on duty: ears up, voices loud, fully invested in whatever was happening on the other side. And Donny and Marie? Let’s just say they were equally keen to be part of the conversation.

There was calling, responding, pausing… and then calling again like everyone was trying to work out the exact logistics of becoming friends as quickly as possible.

It felt less like “quarantine” and more like the opening chapter of a very intentional introduction. Careful pacing, lots of supervision… and a whole lot of excitement building for that first proper meet-up.

If this is them just talking through the fence, we can only imagine what the first face-to-face is going to look like.

“Well that’s not who I expected to find living with the sheep…” 😳🐍

While checking on Donny and Marie, I discovered we had a copperhead sharing their space.

As beautiful as they are, copperheads are venomous, and with curious sheep around, it wasn’t a risk we felt comfortable taking. So, with a healthy dose of caution and a trusty Home Depot bucket, we safely relocated our unexpected resident to a more suitable area away from the sanctuary residents.

A good outcome for everyone involved. Donny and Marie can continue grazing in peace, and the copperhead gets to carry on being a copperhead somewhere a little less crowded.

Special thanks to for supplying the official snake relocation vehicle. 🪣🤣

If you can’t find me, have you checked the hoodie sleeve? 👀

One minute I’m exploring, the next I’m all the way up inside my favourite cozy tunnel. Then… BOOP! There I am. Peekaboo! 🐀💕

The hoomans act surprised every single time, but honestly, I think they’re just slow learners.

Pig hour traffic strikes again. 🚗🐷🐷

Every morning, we line up at the barn doors demanding immediate release into the great outdoors. No patience. No personal space. Just two determined piggies ready to start the day.

And honestly? With sunshine like this, can you blame us? Daisy’s tail was wagging at top speed the second the doors opened. Best part of the day right there. ☀️
