“Well that’s not who I expected to find living with the sheep…” 😳🐍

While checking on Donny and Marie, I discovered we had a copperhead sharing their space.

As beautiful as they are, copperheads are venomous, and with curious sheep around, it wasn’t a risk we felt comfortable taking. So, with a healthy dose of caution and a trusty Home Depot bucket, we safely relocated our unexpected resident to a more suitable area away from the sanctuary residents.

A good outcome for everyone involved. Donny and Marie can continue grazing in peace, and the copperhead gets to carry on being a copperhead somewhere a little less crowded.

Pig hour traffic strikes again. 🚗🐷🐷

Every morning, we line up at the barn doors demanding immediate release into the great outdoors. No patience. No personal space. Just two determined piggies ready to start the day.

And honestly? With sunshine like this, can you blame us? Daisy’s tail was wagging at top speed the second the doors opened. Best part of the day right there. ☀️

The ball pit in our whisker wonderland is officially approved enrichment according to me. Perfect for hiding, tunnelling, snack hunting, and dramatically popping out to surprise the hoomans. Fern still hasn’t figured out where I disappear to.

Donny: “Incorrect. You may enter when I decide you may enter.”

Every single time the gate opens, Donny reaches over and shuts the latch again with his nose like a tiny security guard on duty 😂 Clearly he’s the one running operations around here, and honestly… we just work for him at this point.

Two years ago, we arrived at Respect and completely stole the hoomans’ hearts 💕🐷

From the moment we stepped off the trailer from we knew we’d found our forever… soft beds, endless snacks, muddy puddles, and people who love us exactly as we are.

To celebrate our 2 year Respect anniversary, we each got a GIANT piece of vegan cake 🎂 And yes… we inhaled them immediately. No regrets.

These have truly been the best two years. Thank you to everyone who’s followed our journey and helped make sanctuary possible for pig individuals like us 💛

Apparently being American doesn’t stop you from mastering a New Zealand knot 🇳🇿🤠

A few years ago, I knew absolutely nothing about fencing. Now I can tell you all about tensioning wire, brace posts, and why this knot matters when you want fencing that really holds up 💪🐷🐏🐐

Building a sanctuary has taught us so many practical skills we never expected to learn… and honestly, watching Jeremy casually terminate high-tension wire like this is weirdly satisfying 😅
