ALTA (Athletes Learning to Achieve) Blazzin’ Basketball Program is a non-profit youth organization, staffed entirely by volunteers, and was created with a vision for boys who desired to learn and play the game of basketball at a competitive level. We endeavor to provide an opportunity for boys of similar ages and dissimilar abilities to participate in an organized basketball program. We believe th
at basketball is an ideal opportunity to teach attributes such as sportsmanship, discipline, cooperation, competition, self-confidence, and teamwork. Our organization primarily serves but is not limited to, the greater Atlanta area. Our players range from 11 to 17 years of age and are committed to preparing themselves at a highly competitive level in boys’ basketball. Our goals are to provide an atmosphere with excellent coaching, high levels of competition for middle to high school players, on a state-wide level who are looking to improve their skill development; while emphasizing the importance of education, and ultimately, providing an opportunity and path to compete at the collegiate level and earn a college education. The following components are in place to help lead the athletes in a positive direction: skill development sessions, competitive tournaments, college exposure tournaments, individual & small group training, college recruiting assistance, nutrition and strength, education/development programs. In addition, our basketball program has an environment that continues to promote the characteristics of individual confidence, self-esteem, and leadership skills that student-athletes need to master in order to be successful throughout their lives.
