Class is full. Thank you to everyone that has signed up and if needed we will have another one soon.

When it comes to cardiac arrest every second counts! That’s why we have decided to host a free community CPR class held at the Atkins Fire Station on Friday, August 14th at 6:00. There’s only 12 spots available so please reach out to Seth Cochran on messenger to reserve your spot.

When working an accident sometimes it takes multiple agencies working together. Tonight was a great example of just that. Pope County EMS, Pope County Sheriff’s Office and Atkins Emergency Response Team were called to an accident early this morning. Upon arrival it was determined that extrication was needed, so Atkins Fire and Pottsville Fire Departments were called for rescue operations. While all of our departments were working to take care of the patients, PCEMS coordinated with Survival Flight to get the patients to a higher level of care that was needed once extricated. We’re thankful that we have all of these agencies working together to keep our community safe.

We can’t thank the People for a Better Atkins enough for their generous donation. Our goal is to be able to provide the best patient care possible when seconds count and their donation plays a huge part in that. Thank you!

People for a Better Atkins is proud to support the Atkins Emergency Response Team with a donation toward the purchase of a new Automated External Defibrillator (AED)!

This investment helps ensure our first responders have the lifesaving equipment they need to serve our community. We are incredibly grateful for the dedicated people who work tirelessly to keep our community safe, and we’re honored to play a small part in supporting their mission.

Edit: The drone is not in the video, sorry if it misled anyone.

We take the safety of our responders and flight crew extremely seriously. While responding to a call tonight, a drone was spotted flying overhead as we were coordinating the landing zone with Survival Flight. This poses a significant risk to everyone involved and the community at large, as the consequences of a drone being sucked into the helicopter due to the high winds it produces are unpredictable. If you are a drone owner, it is imperative to keep it grounded during emergency response operations. Failure to comply will result in severe consequences, and if necessary, we will invest in technology to disable and track drones. Additionally, if you have information about the drone operator, I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with them, and you can inform them to contact Seth Cochran directly.

Recently, we posted about our need for assistance in purchasing new Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and we feel that our sponsors deserve recognition. We extend our gratitude to Chris with Lemley Funeral Service and Atkins Super Donuts for their support. Due to the cost of AEDs, we are still seeking donations, which can be made at Centennial Bank.
