The Dedication and Blessing of the Russell and Paula Corigliano Family Student Center & The Russo Family STEAM Center

Today, we formally dedicated and blessed our newest facilities at St. Francis High School! With more than $1.2 million invested in these spaces, we are transforming the east wing of Friars Hall to better serve our students and prepare for the next generation of Franciscan-hearted men.

The Russell and Paula Corigliano Family Student Center provides a central hub for student life, collaboration, quiet study, and academic support, including the Bill and Nancy Gacioch Business Academy. The Russo Family STEAM Center offers a dedicated space for our Academy of Science and Engineering, supporting hands-on learning, robotics, design, and innovation.

As we approach our 100th anniversary in 2027, these projects reflect our commitment to honoring our history while investing in the future of St. Francis. They are part of our $20.5 million capital campaign, *Celebrating the Past, Securing the Future*.

Spirit Week Day Five: Pep Rally! 📣🦅

The entire St. Francis community packed the auditorium today for our Homecoming Pep Rally, and the energy was ELECTRIC! We welcomed all of our varsity athletes to the stage, with a special shoutout to our UNDEFEATED football team!

Seniors Noah Violanti and Kaiden Wright kept the crowd hyped as four seniors from each house competed for the title of Mr. St. Francis. In the end, our very own quarterback, Trent Buttles, took home the crown! Mrs. Dole rocked the faculty talent show with an unforgettable combination of singing and deadlifting, while Coach Nate hosted a rousing game of Wheel of Fortune. Coach O closed out the rally with another blood pumping speech to get everyone hyped for tomorrow's big game!

After the rally, the fun continued outside on the football field with games, hot dogs, ice cream, obstacle courses, and more. And returning this year after a brief hiatus, the senior vs. faculty football game was an absolute show, with the faculty inevitably walking away with the win. Better luck next year, boys! 💪 🏈

Competitions aside, today proved to be the ultimate showing of the St. Francis Spirit. True camaraderie, school spirit, and support from our students. We look forward to seeing everyone carry that momentum into tomorrow's game against Erie. We'll see you tomorrow at 2! Wear Red! And LETS GO RAIDERS!!! 🔴🦅⚪

Spirit Week Day Four: Hawaiian Pie Eatin’!

Today, the whole school took a trip down to Bikini Bottom for a SpongeBob SquarePants-themed Hawaiian dress-down day! 🌺🌴

To match those sweet summer vibes, the four Houses came together for a Pie Eating Contest, with each grade sending a champion until we were down to the final four.

In the end, Billy Battleson of Bonaventure House came out on top! 🥧🏆

Spirit Week Day Three: Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament! ✊📄✂️

Today, all four St. Francis Houses came together for a single-elimination Rock, Paper, Scissors tournament! After a harrowing day of school-wide bouts yesterday, 16 challengers went head-to-head in an absolute thrill-ride of matches. Teachers and students alike joined in on the competition, but in the end, it was Junior Zah’Ki Johnson of Fasani House who came out on top and took home all the beads!

Congratulations to Zah’Ki and Fasani House! But the competition is far from over. There’s still plenty more Spirit Week fun to come!

Today, St. Francis High School was honored to welcome Bishop Michael W. Fisher and Fr. Sean Paul Fleming ’99 to campus for a tour led by our President, Fr. Matt Foley.

Bishop Fisher had the opportunity to see some of the newest additions to our campus, including the Student Commons, Business Academy, STEAM Center, and Athletic Center. As a St. Francis alumnus, Fr. Sean was especially impressed to see how much our campus has grown and evolved since his time as a student.

We’re grateful to Bishop Fisher for taking the time to visit our school, share his wisdom with our students, and spend time with the St. Francis community. Pax et Bonum!

St. Francis Spirit Week kicked off with a Day of Service!

Today, our students traveled to locations across Western New York to lend a helping hand to some incredible organizations serving those in need. These photos highlight our senior class volunteering at Camp Cradle Beach.

Other service locations included:

• Friends of the Night People
• St. Vincent de Paul Society
• South Buffalo Parishes
• St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy
• St. Gianna Molla Center
• Response to Love Center
• Ronald McDonald House

This is what being a St. Francis man is all about: serving our community in meaningful ways, living out our Franciscan values, and making a difference alongside our brothers.
