Sisterhood of the Traveling Dresses - Athens Ohio This is an event started in 2011 and is held typically in March. It is for Athens, Ohio and surrounding area students to get formal event wear at no cost.

Sisterhood of the Traveling Dresses is a community project led by the Ohio University’s Women’s Panhellenic Association (WPA) to provide prom and event outfits to area high school women and men. The core of the project is the sisterhood of women and the opening of their hearts and closets to provide dresses, suit, shoes, and accessories for women and men to participate in those rites of passage th

at they may not otherwise be able to afford. Just like the book “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants,” donated items will travel to other students who will wear them and make new memories.

👗The Panhellenic Council at Ohio University is currently collecting donations to support our upcoming FREE prom attire event for students in Athens local schools. Our goal is to make sure every student can attend prom feeling confident and celebrated! 👔

We are looking for donations of:
• Prom dresses
• Men’s suits
• Accessories (shoes, jewelry, purses, etc.)

If you have gently used items that could help a student prepare for prom, we would love your support!

📍 Drop-off Location: Baker University Center – Room 330 between 8:00am-5:00pm

Sisterhood of the Traveling Dresses, which provides free formal wear to local high school student in preparation for prom, has been going on for almost 15 years. The event has evolved over the years to now include mens wear, shoes, accessories, etc. and service all of Southeast Ohio. To continue to provide high quality options for hundreds of students every year, we are accepting donations year round. Donations can be mailed or brought to Ohio University’s Office of Sorority and Fraternity Life (1 Ohio University Drive, Baker University Center 330, Athens, OH 45701).
