Chess & Community is a registered non-profit organization, dedicated to empowering young leaders in Northeast Georgia.

Chess and Community was founded in Athens, Georgia. CC provides real-world knowledge through positive youth engagement. We engage our youth in critical thinking, civic engagement, peer learning, and cultural experiences to develop young leaders.

Chess boards in an art museum. Students teaching strangers. Strangers becoming students. 🎨♟️

Our Chess & Community kids visited the Museum of Art in Athens and did what they do best. They showed up, they connected, and they brought chess with them. Watching them walk through stunning artwork and then turn around and teach community members how to play was something truly special.

A huge thank you to the of Art for opening your doors and welcoming us in. Your support in creating spaces like this means the world to our students and to our community. 🙏
