DO YOU RECOGNIZE ME OR MY PERSON? The shelter has not been able to contact anyone through the lost pet post or via the phone number connected to Maggie May's microchip, but we'd LOVE to reunite her with her person.

Maggie May is at Athens-Clarke County Animal Services. Her owner can come by 125 Buddy Christian Way in Athens 11-4 any day except Sundays (12-3) and Mondays (12-4). He can also call 706-613-3540 or email [email protected].

Maggie May's stray hold period expires end of day Monday. *Please* share this point so her owner can reclaim her before that time!

Who Will Let the Dogs Out? is a national group working to build a new way of talking about shelters outside the Kill / No Kill paradigm that has proven so harmful. Tonight at 7 they're discussing The 5 Tenets of Responsible Sheltering. Consider joining the coalition they're building (Athenspets is part of it) to move sheltering forward!

If you are a 501(c)(3) that provides low cost / free vet care (including spay / neuter) for community members (not just rescue / shelter animals) and have not yet applied for a Duffield Foundation Boost grant ($10,000), you should do so ASAP--I know of at least 6 orgs that applied and were approved almost immediately which means, since there are only 250 of these grants available, the money is going FAST and will be gone long before the December 16th close date.

Duffield Boost Grants provide $10,000 one-time grants to nonprofit veterinary clinics providing free or low-cost care for family pets.
