📣URGENT ‼️The shelter is completely full, with every dog kennel occupied and the kitten nursery at capacity.

‼️We urgently need more adopters and foster homes to help us create space for incoming animals and ensure every pet receives the care they deserve.

We especially need experienced fosters for Rock, Paper, and Scissors who are recent intakes who have learned how to survive but not how to trust humans yet! They are adorable 5 months old puppies and are around 20-25 pounds. They need to be split up into separate foster homes, we are looking for experienced fosters to take them for a few weeks so they can learn to relax and hopefully be adoptable soon!

If you are not a currently approved foster you can get more info and begin the process here: https://www.accgov.com/9491/Foster-a-Pet. Scroll down and start with item # 1.

If you are unsure of your current foster status, you can check by texting the foster coordinator at (762) 400-2127.

In four days it will be a whole year that Army has been in the shelter system! 😢💔

📣 ARMY HAS BEEN WAITING HIS WHOLE LIFE. Literally.

On June 5, 2025, Army arrived at the shelter with eight other dogs all from one home. He was just a baby. Less than two months old.

Most puppies that age spend their days learning about couches, toys, backyards, treats, car rides, and the comforting routine of being someone’s dog.

Army grew up learning about kennel walls. He was adopted briefly twice but returned. As the months passed, puppies came and went. Dogs arrived and found homes. Seasons changed. Army stayed.

In October 2025, Army was selected for Project Homebound, our jail dog training program. He has worked hard, learned new skills, and shown everyone what a good boy he is. He is friendly with people. Friendly with other dogs. Sweet, eager, and deserving.

But even with all of that, he is still waiting. Army needs a person.

He needs someone willing to show him that there is a whole world beyond the shelter and training program. Someone who will help him learn that walks can happen just because it’s a beautiful day. That naps can happen on a couch. That love is more than an hour or two out of a kennel a day.

A foster home would change his life.

An adopter would change it forever.

Army has spent nearly his entire life waiting for someone to choose him.

Can we make sure he doesn’t spend another year doing the same?

❤️ Foster.
❤️ Adopt.
❤️ Share his story.

Sometimes the dog who needs saving the most is the one who has quietly waited the longest. Army needs out, can you help him by sharing his post, spreading the word, and sending all the good vibes for him into the universe?

Army is off site still at the jail but you can apply to adopt on the website below and then will be contacted by his trainer for a meet and greet. Army’s trainer Georgia Dog Trainer LLC will be happy to tell you more about his training and offers her support during his transition into a home as well!
