FAQs about S.O.S
What kind of stuff does S.O.S do? S.O.S sponsors a wide range of activities including films, guest speakers, education and outreach efforts, community service projects, advocating for humane reforms, social events, and more. is an official UGA student organization, but welcomes all people affiliated with UGA — students, faculty, staff. Our goal is to bring together a diverse coalition of people who care about animals. No, S.O.S accepts you wherever you are on the food-choice spectrum. While most group members follow a plant-based diet, we welcome everyone interested in reducing animal suffering! Whether your focus is on animals used for food, entertainment, clothing, sport, experiments, or other issues, S.O.S needs your help to speak for those who can't. ALL S.O.S events serve only vegan food and we advocate for others to follow a plant-based diet. I want to help be a voice for animals, but I don't have a lot of time and am not able to make the meetings. How can I still help? Email us at [email protected] and ask to join our listserv so you can get announcements about S.O.S events. If you don't have time to participate in all our activities, that's OK! You are welcome to volunteer to help out whenever you have a chance, for example working on just one of our projects during the year or attending one of our films or guest speaker events.
