Post 129 Menard County, American Legion Serving Veterans and Communities in Menard County Illinois Our Kitchen is open Tuesday thru Friday from 4-8. We accept cash, debit, or credit.

We are Menard County American Legion Post 129 and thrive on making this Post a continued staple in the community through relationship building and community events. We operate a small kitchen and bar that provides a means to make those connections in the community and to continue our support to Veterans. We'll stay open if you're here and have a great time. The 2026 Scholarship Awards recipients are hereby announced. The selection process considered overall GPA, community and school involvement, and an essay response to the topic 'What does Patriotism mean to you? The recipients each were awarded with a certificate and $500 to use towards their future schooling endeavors!
The recipients are:

Carly Breedlove - PORTA
Ella Armitage - Athens.
Congratulations are extended to the winners. Special recognition is given to Alex Mercer for leading the fundraising initiative, notably through his completion of the Hennepin 100 Ultramarathon, and to those who supported and donated! We anticipate receiving applications for next year's awards.
