We pack 600-1000 bags of nonperishable food at the Food Bank every Wednesday @ 5:45 to distribute to kids in Northeast GA. UGA Food2Kids raises awareness and funds to benefit the Northeast Georgia Food Bank Program Food 2 Kids. This program provides food-insecure children in Athens-Clarke Country and surrounding areas with bags of non-perishable, easily prepared, nutritious food on Friday afternoo
ns. Many of these children are on the free or reduced lunch program and the only meals they receive are during school hours. Food2Kids helps to bridge this "weekend hunger gap." We believe that for children to be well-educated, it is essential that they are well-fed.
