What an incredible evening we had at Athens Night of Hope / Breast Cancer Charity Dinner!! How beautiful to see Summit Crossing Community Church of Limestone and Friendship Methodist united to share the gospel with a message of HOPE. Thank you, Steve Dorning for being willing to join this little dream of ours and for your encouraging words about unity. This event would not have been possible without the help of those who purchased tickets, our business sponsors and volunteers. We laughed and cried and were left encouraged in the hope we have in Christ. The donations for the silent auction were a HUGE hit and so appreciated. You did a great job keeping the auction going, Steve Kerce. LuVici's, thank you for an excellent meal and being so great to work with. Sweet Thymes, your desserts were divine! Thank you to Kristi Coughlin, Jessica Barksdale, Leigh Anne Black, Amanda Pennington, Nancy John and Harlyn Cowart for making us laugh with a little taste of Steel Magnolias and all the time and effort you put into making it happen. Also, Kristi for sharing your gift with music. Kim Evans and Shannon Neill, we cannot thank you enough for allowing us to join you in your journey and for being willing to share from the deepest places in your soul. Thank you to Al Gilbert for all your expertise and time with the sound system and Andrew England, Matthew Wilson, Mikey Marrazzo and Andrew Thompson for the BEAUTIFUL video. Mike Marazzo, Andrew and Mikey, thank you for helping with the lights and slides. NewFire, you blew us away with your beautiful music and your raw vulnerability to share what the Lord has done in your lives and the HOPE you have in Him. Cyn Shea's Express & Catering, the desserts you so generously donated were incredible and a yummy addition to the silent auction. Dana McCranie, we cannot wait to see your beautiful pictures that always make sweet moments come alive. Lauren Fowler, the flyers and banners were gorgeous. We loved the music you gave us, Shawn Rosco Hays! The servers were amazing and looked like pros out there. Joel and Kristy McCarty, thank you for being willing to help us get the building back in order. Many thanks to Domino's and Starbucks of Athens for the pizza and coffee. Sean Carter, thank you for always bringing us back to the simple truths. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

Meet the Neill family, our "Honored Family" at Night of HOPE. All proceeds will be given to our honored families and Pink Elephant. Please come and support these families and enjoy a wonderful evening.
Shannon was diagnosed with breast cancer in December of 2013. Shortly after diagnosis two things were so vividly evident. First, a cancer diagnosis is a journey that affects not just the patient but the entire family. Secondly, the love and support of the body of Christ both local and abroad and the beauty of friendship and community is a powerful gift in our Savior. We remember the huddled prayers of weeping and hope amongst our brothers and sisters in Nicaragua in a little hotel in Jinotepe, in the patient room of a local surgeon, and on the den floor of a friend's home surrounded by our local family of believers. From the beginning God has given unspeakable peace and drawn our hearts to His and nurtured a freeing, healing sense of honesty and transparency with our children, friends and family in the journey. The story written He has written and continues to write is one of beauty and hope amidst fear and trial that can only by penned by our Sovereign Lord and Savior. We journey forth as many, with uncertain circumstances, held firmly in the grip of the One who is certain. It is our prayer that as others face diagnosis and the journey beyond that they would not feel alone in their journey and battle or fearful of sharing their struggles and victories. We pray for mental and spiritual encouragement and hope through the Gospel of Jesus Christ and freedom to be transparent. We pray for protection against the desire to retreat and journey alone and the beauty of embracing the journey with others. visit www.athensnightofhope.com to buy your tickets

Meet one of the families that will be honored at "Night of HOPE", this Saturday! All proceeds will be given to our honored families and Pink Elephant. In the fall of 2012 Kim found out she had breast cancer. She recently celebrated 1 year cancer free!! Even though she is celebrating this, there are still many hurdles to jump regarding her health. Chemo and radiation, as helpful as they are, they take a toll on your body. Hear this from Kim, "I still have to go for tests and take medicine to keep me well. I pray I never have to go through anything like that again. I hung onto many scriptures during this time and my favorite that I quoted many times when I needed to be uplifted was “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28). I clung to this truth daily. My God was always with me and taught me to look for the positive things He had in store for me. The world will not hold me back…I give it all to Him!"
