España en Corto - Spanish Short Film Festival

España en Corto - Spanish Short Film Festival Film festival started by UGA grad students to showcase 12 total award-winning Spanish short films at the Georgia Museum of Art.

This film festival was started 9 years ago by graduate student, Kate Bundy, at the University of Georgia. After working for the Spanish Ministry of Exterior Culture in 2008-2009, and subsequently meeting several short filmmakers and festival organizers in Salamanca and Madrid, Kate's relationship with Spanish short film distributors enabled her to found and organize annual film festivals in Kennes

aw, GA (circa 2008), and later in Athens, GA (circa 2012). The success of the film festival every Spring attracts hundreds of attendees every year, and does not fail to leave an impression on audience members who may not have much prior exposure to Spanish cinema and/or Spanish short film. Now, EspañaEnCorto is a cultural staple of The Department of Romance Languages at UGA, and of the Athens, Georgia arts community at large.
